Unhappy 2020 C300 W205 Front Emblem Replacement

Long story short girlfriend cracked the front emblem badge of my 2020 C300 (sigh). We bought a replacement emblem, but finding it hard to remove the original. It doesn't seem to turn counter clockwise or detach easily. Any advice here on how to replace? Does the whole grill/bumper need to be removed? Am I better off going to a body shop?

It has the AMG performance package, and I do believe there is distronic as I see wires behind the emblem when I pop the hood, though not directly attached to the emblem.
