started out as a headlight issue, my Static LED’s would randomly go up and down every minute or so and then all lights were stuck on! The switch did nothing!
I took off my range control modules and noticed a bit of water ingress in one of them. Replaced this and the other one with Chinese modules. All lights still stuck on and unable to communicate with the modules. Only code was the front SAM range control on both headlights. Unable to communicate with either. Put the original hood module in and another genuine Continental module in the other side, both dipped beam and side light worked, no full beams or indicators though! Still can’t communicate.
spoke to a coder and he said the front SAM was at fault, replaced that and coded in, he checked all the connectors to the headlights and they all showed correct voltage. He plugged in Xentry and still couldn’t communicate, tried brand new headlights, same problem!
he noticed I have a new code though, U104388 Can BUS Hi/Lo BUS OFF, associated to the EIS. The car starts and drives fine! No key issues, although the steering lock doesn’t engage when the car is turned off.
what checks do I need to do now?!? People are saying the EIS isn’t at fault and I don’t want to spend £1000’s more diagnosing the issue!
