w206

So I came across this article:

http://mercedesblog.com/the-next-mer...nched-in-2020/

Did anyone hear anything else on the W206? Will it be available in 2019, when my lease is up?

Thank you.

Cool article. Thank you for sharing.

Crazy to think that it could potentially offer 400+ hp and dangerously narrowing the gap with the 63 in current form.

Unless of course, they make the c63 run on all wheels...

They're saying 12 inch display for the C-Class too.. =)

there is no way the w206 will be launched in 2020. the w205 is still young and needs its facelift. 2019 the w205 will be facelifted and that will run out its traditional 7 year program course. i wouldnt expect to see an inline 6 until 2022 MY at least. not saying this because i dont want it, but they are just working out the bugs of the w205s finally for the facelift.

Looks like a pretty basic step forward for a facelift. I would expect this for MY 19 for sure.

you obviously dont understand the chassis designations and what a face lift actually is.

yes i agree with the video that the c face lift will come in 2019 or 2020. BUT this will still be a w205 chassis.

the w206 would be a complete redesign and be a completely new platform from the ground up. the video posted here is still a w205 just a facelift version of it. It will NOT be a w206 chassis.

it has been talked about in a few places, but they dont think the "53" engine will be seen in this c class. they think it will only be in the upper end sedans such as s class maybe the e and it will be in the sl and cls and such.

Any idea what engine the c43 will have? I'm guessing the engine in in the article.. Are they bringing back the "450" moniker? Seems like it from the article.

In current form, yes, but the size of the gap is always going to be about the same, it's just going to shift up the graph. It's crazy how easy and efficient it is getting to produce big power out of ICE's when you add FI. My pops was talking to me the other day how he's been looking at replacing his '12 A8. Was looking at the new RS7 Performance pkg but now that the new E63's are gonna be AWD he wants to maybe switch brands. But long story short, I hadn't realized that both of those sedans are producing over 600HP! Luxury SEDANS... Producing 600+ HORSEPOWER! This is getting nuts! V12 lambos of last generation didn't even have 600hp. McLaren comes out with it's Hypercar and just 4-5 years later their mid-tear supercar 720s is now faster than their P1. Same thing with Porsche, their new GT2RS is now faster than the 918 just 5 years later. Exponential growth.

By the time we switch over to 100% automation, people are going to be driving 1000hp hybrid station wagons to the grocery store lol
