Does anyone know when we will start getting info about the 2021 W206 and it’s release date?

I have no idea. So far I've only seen 1 spy shot and the prototype was heavily camouflaged. I'm beginning to think it won't be a 2021 W206 model as a new S class is being released this fall as a 2021 model and also the 2021 GLA but it looks like no new C for 2021.

2021 MY will still be the W205. US market will get the W206 as a 22 MY. I read on a German blog that the EU market is supposedly going to start receiving initial orders next spring. Traditionally, the US market will get shipments a few months after. Since W206 production will only take place in South Africa and Germany, we should have initial shipments early fall. C63e S will be a year later.

I first ordered a 2020 C63s back in April because I wanted to get one before they closed the allocations for the 2020 models and I was not looking forward to the new generations and their 4-cylinder engines and iPad screen interiors. In July they told me that my order got kicked back because MB is rolling into 2021 because of this COVID mess. Good news is that they are pushing back the next generation till later 2021 or 2022 so you still have time to get the V8 model but still a limited amount of time. 2021s will be the same as the 2020s, my dealer told me in July that the 2021s will begin production late September and should be delivered by November (fingers crossed) cause I'm pretty skeptical about it since they lied to me for 3 months about the 2020 model was being made for me. 2021s will have the moonroof standard and some other feature they also removed the LED projector lamps that shine the logo on the ground as well as the rear sun shade. Base price will be like $1,000 more. I was able to work out a DE1 discount which is (12.25%) I got lucky cause the sales rep I was talking to in December was furloughed cause of all the COVID shut downs and when I was ready to place the order in April they gave me a new sales rep. First rep told me about the discount but never said he would give it to me so I just acted like he offered me that discount and if they didn't honor it I would go shop around. They tried to charge me 100k for my fully loaded build MSRP is 92k. After the discount I am paying 87k with taxes and fees not including financing. Do not let them finesse you and say you can't get a discount cause you should be able to get at least 4-7% off MSRP. But new year models will be harder to finesse deals cause they want to reap the most when new cars drop. If you want to settle for one on the lot that's already made you could argue a deal more because they need to push those off the lot to make room for the next models as well as the amount of money they spend on insurance to keep the cars on the lot is costing them so it is in their best interest to get it sold ASAP plus they are definitely making like 20% on these cars with other selling incentives that Mercedes gives them for selling stuff. I only see a handful of 2020 C63s online but many of them are missing features or are base models. If you just want the car then you will be okay but I myself can't accept paying more for less features and a build I don't want so I ordered mine. Let me know what you decide to do and if you order one keep me updated on when they say you can get it. I still don't have a PO# yet so I'm skeptical on when these 2021s will come out. I know the C63s are assembled in Alabama, USA which is another reason why Im not willing to pay full price for a C63s the quality is not as good as the AMG's assembled in Germany or South Africa. Engines are all made in Germany but shipped to wherever the certain models are manufactures to be assembled with the car. I did hear that because of COVID they shifted production back to Europe which could be the reason why they are taking longer to build & ship out. Keep me updated on if you get one or order one and what they tell you about when they will deliver it to you!

you are correct they are pushing back the next c generation till later 2021 or 2022. I ordered a C63s 2020 back in April and then they kicked back the order in July cause they are rolling it into the 2021 models so they will be the same as the 2020 just have some features standard and removed some small options. So there is still time to get the V8 model but not much time at all. They said my 2021 build would begin production late September & be delivered in November but I am kinda skeptical hopefully they come through (fingers crossed)

Looks like this your new W206! I like it.. it's simple and pretty. Glad it isn't frumpy.

It looks nice. It doesn't look like MB rocked the boat. Hopefully more pictures will follow soon. I guess the launch of the new S class is the current MB priority.

This current C Class generation arrived at US dealers in September of 2014 as a 2015 model. I special ordered a C400 the first week after they were available at the dealer and i had the car by November 2014. I suspect the next C Class generation will follow the same pattern and arrive at the dealers in September of 2021 as a 2022 model.

I think you're probably right since MB is currently tied up with the new S class launch.

A similar timeline will most likely follow suit. Bremen has already ceased W205 production in order to prepare for the W206. East London, S. Africa is now the sole global source for W205s minus China. German dealers are now taking final W205s orders up through the end of the month for November/December deliveries. US deliveries will probably continue through the spring from East London. Bremen is on track to start production spring 21 and E London will probably start soon after. Depends on if the US market gets Bremen made cars or only S African made cars is when we will get initial orders. Most likely sometime in early Q4 21.

Spoiler alert: The 2021 C-Class coming out this fall is the same as the 2020 C-Class. No changes.

The next-gen W206 C-Class will be released sometime next year as a 2022 model.

lol I already know that, all they did was make the moonroof standard as well as the digital instrument cluster. They also removed LED projector lamps that shine the logo on the ground & the rear sun shade. Im glad they didn't change it cause I really wanted the 2020 model because it was supposed to be the last V8 but the 2021 is going to be the last chance to get it.

I see why you made that post I didn't even realize it put it under the w206 I was thinking w205 which is what I have on order and is the last year for this model before they bring in the new gen & the 4-cylinder engine.

Update: Mercedes has stopped taking allocations for the 2021 w205 models at least for the sedans. You may still be able to order a coupe but that window is probably closing very soon. They are moving towards the w206 allocations and the wait on those are probably gonna be 12+ months. The affects from covid are going to hurt production for the next year to come and will likely cause more delays as we pass through this winter and the rise in cases causing parts and factories to close again.

Thanks for this interesting little update. It looks like the start of W206 production is a little closer than I was thinking it was. This leads me to think that the W206 reveal can't be too far off..

Probably won’t see anything until summer 2021, there is one last lot of allocations of the w205 models hitting production in Jan/feb which won’t be delivered until April/may so we can expect to see the w206 shortly after. I’m excited to see what the future holds and the whole electrified line up to come in the near future but until then I’ll be enjoying my V8
