Hello all! I recently had my car in for service (tires, balance, and alignment),however, when I got my car back I'm convinced the active steering assistant is not working as it had been. I've looked all around on the internet for information and I've pressed the active steering assistant button several times in me car. You see I am about 110% sure it worked before without being in cruise control and now the only way I can make it function is if it is in cruise control. The little steering wheel shows up at the bottom of my screen, but it will not turn green unless I set cruise control. Am I going crazy thinking it used to work or does it only truly work if I turn on my cruise control?? Thanks
Yes, you are going crazy and you are in the wrong forum. Active Steering Assist only works in conjunction with DISTRONIC. You might be thinking of the lane keep assist which works regardless of whether DISTRONIC is engaged or not.
When in doubt, the owners manual usually has the answers!
