PHEV w206

Pretty impressive all electric range, might be a nice upgrade from the c350e a few years from now if it’s sold in the US.

What is really impressive about the W206 powertrain is the seamless integration between electric power and engine power.

In all the road test videos I've seen there is zero NVH when transitioning between electric and combustion power and this set up finally solves the obtrusive start/stop shudder.

I don't think it will make it to the US, at least no news of it. MB has not had good luck with PHEV sales here, I think they are betting on full EV's and will be bringing the EQ models, however I do think a C300e (or whatever denomination it uses) would be a good stopgap vehicle until a smaller EQ based sedan makes its way to production.

You mean C300e, old generation W205?

I was just saying C300e as a random model name for if a PHEV were to ever come in. My point was that a hypothetical C Class PHEV (designated as a 300e, 350e, or whatever number that doesn't match the engine anyways) would be a nice offering in the states.

yep totally agree. Especially with a 50+ mile EV range. I’ve been really enjoying my used 205 c350e since I can just drive on battery for all my super short errands. Whisper quiet and smooth plus not a worry about charging on road trips and this thing is comfy for highway drives especially with the standard air suspension!

The 2019/2020? s560e is also tempting once those come off lease with the slightly larger battery and I’d imagine much more comfort

I would avoid a W222 PHEV, while the powertrain is fine in the C and GLC, the little 2.0L in that large and heavy of a car is not the best in my opinion.

The S560e PHEV has the twin turbo V6

Hello i am looking at a w205 c300e. Do i need to charge it every day. I'll be doing around 40 miles a road driving a day and won't have access to a home charger.

Ideally, it would be charged everyday. The major benefit of PHEVs is that they run off the battery for daily city driving/commutes and gas during longer trips. Without charging it, you get no gains from the PHEV system, as the recuperative charging is negligible when the battery is dead. You'd have a normal gas powered vehicle.
