here is the first assessment of this new class c after 2500 km as well as a photo report.

Many positive things about this w206 despite 2 or 3 more negative points but no car is perfect.

Life on board is a delight from every point of view, the driving position is perfect, I feel like in a cocoon very well installed and with materials that look great in terms of the visible part, the plastics of lower console and doors are much less good but they can only be seen when you are not driving, Mercedes could do better on this point. The mood lighting is a real plus for me, I never get tired of it and everyone loves it, the seats are very comfortable both in the seat and in the backrest, I'm better there than in the w205 which was already very good.

in terms of the burmester sound system, it's the big surprise, by far the best sound system I've had in a car, the sound is clear, clean and the bass is finally present even too much on certain pieces and especially on the rear which is a bit annoying at times for the rear passengers because too much sub except that for me it's perfect, there is a big difference between the feeling at the front and the rear and the settings can not do anything do it, I would have preferred the opposite but I'm not going to complain either, the sound settings are incredible, in short super happy with the burmester which is much better than that of the w205 at all levels.

Regarding augmented reality navigation, it's also a real plus, it's no longer possible to make mistakes when changing directions, it's a real innovation and very useful, the large touch screen is very well integrated and of good resolution, navigation in the menus is intuitive and fluid, it's just perfect except for fingerprints which are disgusting after a while so to clean relatively often but this is the fault of touch screens, there is no really solutions to this.

big plus also for the 360 degree camera and the mbux 2 system (hey mercedes) which does the job and even tells jokes.

The digital light, probably the option that impressed me the most, it's so efficient, driving at night is a pure delight, we are almost always in full headlights, the night turns into day, it lights up brightly and very far full of small squares or black rectangles will hide the cars and the traffic signs, it's a show of lights every time, when I'm driving with another car at night, I feel like I don't have any headlights, in short a killer at all levels the digital light lights!!!

Level chassis, engine, boxes, shock absorber and driving pleasure:

First of all the chassis on which I have absolutely nothing to complain about, very efficient, the road holding is very good, the steering precise and pleasant, the driving pleasure is indeed there

The damping has been revised compared to the w205, more pleasant, more comfortable and therefore less firm without losing bite or handling, only positive at this level too.

the 9gtronic box does the job, the passages are done discreetly and it responds present when you ask it, nothing to complain about for the moment on this box, only happiness.

For the engine, much more discreet than the old block especially at low revs, not the impression of having a diesel below 2500 rpm, beyond that we know that we are running on oil but overall the sound is more pleasant especially at low revs to such an extent that I have to look at the counter to know when it is running or not when it deactivates in eco mode or on the start/stop, it's barely noticeable, nothing to do with the w205 has this level there, the starter alternator has a lot to do with it, the accelerations are there too, I've started to play with it a little since 300/400 km and it grows well when the need arises, consumer level I'm 5.5 l average over 2500 km with 1600 km of motorway at 130 and the rest in urban or peri-urban and often loaded with trunk luggage and 4 or 5 people on board 2/3 of the time, so there is plenty of way to get off below 5 l unloaded and cool driving which is remarkable for a car of this weight and power so in summary pleasantly surprised by the engine for the moment knowing that it will still be released as time goes by.

my big black dot goes to braking which I still haven't got used to, of course it brakes hard when you need it but there is often this empty or neutral point when you press before it bites the brakes for regeneration and therefore either it puts time to brake or we press harder and once past this tipping point, it brakes sharply which is not comfortable on a daily basis, personally I do not like this feeling of floating at the start of the pedal, it Mercedes will have to rework this in the future!

To sum up

points +

general comfort

the luxurious and techno cockpit for the visible parts (high) and a real cockpit feeling for the driver

the frame

the engine and its approval

The direction

depreciation

the starter alternator

consumption

the Burmester

the digital light

augmented reality navigation

mbux 2 and its interface

dots -

the brakes

hard plastics at the bottom of the console and doors

fingerprints on the touch screen (at the same time it's normal)

too much bass in the back with the burmester when you have passengers and if the sound is high enough

panoramic sunroof which does not open fully, 10 cm more would have been doable I think

a lot of technologies which are potential risks of breakdowns

I do not regret my purchase on the contrary, very very satisfied overall with this new class c, to see in time what it will give, I will come back to it if necessary.

Thanks for the review. Did your car come with adjustable suspension/dampers? How is the ride quality and road noise with the 19 inch wheels?

C300
So for the acceleration would you say it feels a bit quicker and more responsive than the w205? Also is your car a c300?

No, the original non-adjustable amg sport suspension and the 19" are very comfortable and quiet (pirreli p zero)

[QUOTE=Holo;8525744] Donc, pour l'accélération, diriez-vous qu'il semble un peu plus rapide et plus réactif que le w205 ? Aussi ta voiture est-elle une c300 ? [/CITATION]

I have the 220 d engine (diesel) 200 hp + 20 hp eqboost and yes it's better than the 220 d of the w205

Do you mind me asking where you're located that you were able to take delivery? Here in the US the MSRP hasn't even been officially announced.

I'm from France ,I ordered in April 2021 for delivery scheduled for July 2021 but with the problems of electronic parts, I received it only in February 2022, good luck to you, there is a lot of delay even here in Europe

Have you scraped the bottom of the car? 9cm seems very low.

it's taking shape little by little, the burmester grilles have been placed on the center console and on the dashboard, that's already less hard plastic visible, the front windows have been tinted as well as the chrome mercedes logos on the grille and the trunk covered in black, the fins in glossy black on the front pc, next meeting at the end of March to do the same thing on the chrome door handles, that will be the end of the chrome, it will be full black and the tint rear lights will be made at the same time, probably 2 coats of smoked varnish so that it is not too dark, it will be a light smoke .

Very cool, nice color combo! Personally I think the interior is nice than the S, maybe it's the vents.

Here, the rear lights and the reflectors have been tinted as I wanted, it makes the rear more aggressive, only the c63 trunk spoiler is missing, which should arrive soon, hoping it looks good!
