2022 C-Class lack of gauge customization

Hey there!

Anyone notice the lack of customization on the new c-class gauge cluster screens? I have the exclusive trim and recently it went back to dealer for tint. While it was there I had a loaner 2022 GLB 250. In that car, the gauge cluster had a TON more customization options. For the c-class only the classic will show any information but it only shows information one thing at a time. In the GLB, I could change the right side of the screen to show all sorts of information while maintaining the media display in the center section. The c-class won't do that. None of the other screens (sport, understated- can't remember the name) have any customization options what so ever. Maybe more customization will come in a future update but so far it is extremely lacking. My work sonata limited has way more customization than this C-Class.

Love the car just curious and very lightly frustrated by it.

Yes. I have expected more customization too. Especially because of other models have it. Is the S class have same level of no customization? Something tells me that not. But look at the bright side. You don't need to spend a lot of time trying different layouts.

Actually it looks like for this generation of SW MB has decided to limit customization to the number of preset gauge cluster layouts . Seems that it's across all models. May be MB considers high customization as a hazard of some sort. Or may be just cost saving. Not a big deal for me.

The only additional custom gauge that the S-Class features is an "Exclusive" mode which features a glossy chrome look to the gauges.

I think some people complained about the customizability of the gauges on MBUX 1 so on MBIX 2 (including all S, EQS, and C models now) you have limited options on what shows up in the middle of the screen between the bubbles and you can’t change the bubbles. It’s a huge miss to me.

Yes I agree. Huge miss. Was in another 2022 glb loaner while my car gets ceramic wrapped and the amount of customization was insane in comparison. Also my biggest annoyance, it had turn by turn directions option for the gauge cluster that pulled from Android auto.......

MB has historically and continually treat C Class buyers with contempt. They include all sorts of goodies for the A and B, but when it comes to the C, they sideline it and go to E.

I don't think this is necessarily true or at least is the reason in this case - it just happens that MB chose to limit the number of customization options on the guages for MBUX 2 due to many customers saying it was too confusing and there was too much going on most likely, and it also happens that the EQS, S, and C were the first to get the new MBUX 2 system. The A and E only have more guage customization because they are last gen cars with old tech.

Sad but true... wonder if MB will ever use OTA updates to add features instead of address recalls
