No, Sport and Sport+ have technically different throttle maps, transmission programs and ESP settings. Sport+ provides an even sportier driving style with more emphasized oversteering and understeering characteristics, whereas Sport is still sporty, but emphasizes stability. In a C 300 the differences are small, though, in part because the suspension is not driver adjustable via the modes. You feel a much bigger difference in AMGs between Sport and Sport+. These modes are a bit of a gimmick in normal MBs.
But for Individual settings the only audio has Sport+ option. May be it makes difference for AMG but looks like not for regular ones.
Maybe you can post a screenshot. MB/AMG changed the terminology a while back. They now use Reduced, Moderate, Sport, Dynamic and Race for the Drive setting. They are directly tied to available modes in the specific model.
Slippery = Reduced
Comfort = Moderate
Sport = Sport
Sport+ = Dynamic
Race = Race
What are the available Drive settings you have in your individual mode?
Drive has Eco, Comfort and Sport options only.
I have updated my previos post with the picture.
Yeah that looks like they eliminated Sport+ for the Drive setting in the W206 C 300. But looks like ESP goes to Sport in Sport+. What's the ESP setting when you are in Sport? That's basically what I was referring to above with the oversteer/understeer vs stability characteristics.
Sport as well. It has two options only. Comfort and Sport.
Hmmh...that might be a bug. I would have expect that in Sport it would be set to Comfort. The Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ modes are essentially just unique combinations of the individual component modes, with Sport+ supposed to give you a sportier, more dynamic handling by increasing the ESP thresholds, whereas Sport is supposed to give you a better throttle response but basically the same handling characteristics as Comfort.
For Sport settings are:
Drive: Sport
Handling: Sport
ESP: Sport
Rev sound: Sport
For Sport+ settings are:
Drive: Sport
Handling: Sport
ESP: Sport
Rev sound: Sport+
So they are unique combinations sort of. The catch is that for Sport+ it's just rev sound. Which I think is funny. I don't know what MB was thinking. Not having Sport+ would be perfectly fine in my view.
Well, I think the Sport settings should be like this:
Drive: Sport Steering: Sport (<-- this is not handling, that's steering) ESP: Comfort (<-- this controls the handling, basically allowing more or less oversteer/understeer) Rev sound: Sport
That's actually essentially what the owners manual says as posted above. It gives you a sporty driving response, but keeps stability control at the most stable setting. Otherwise Sport+ really makes no sense if the only difference between Sport and Sport+ is sound. I guess I've seen sillier things.
