consensus Tint Alternatives

So. I am getting a new c class after driving my beloved W204 foe 13 years. Unfortunately, I got some bad news when the dealer told me that if I tint the windows, my warranty would be voided. Why you ask? See here:

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ar-window.html

After speaking with the techs at the dealer, they finally agreed to tint the front and rear drivers and passenger windows by removing the panels to protect the electronics. The rear windshield however was still a no go. I asked if I could make an application to the outside of the windshield which seems agreeable. traditional Tinting the outside, even ceramic will not last very long (weeks, maybe days). So I'm considering two options and looking for some consensus on. Firstly, I'm thinking of a dark perforated vinyl film without graphics to be applied on the outside. Secondly, a simple stick-on/retractable sunshade on the inside that can be moved when the glass needs cleaning.

What do you folks think?

go with the inside first as a temporary solution. Much easier to change it later on for something more robust. At some point the problem will be solved and you should be able to tint it the “right” way.

You mean the darkened glass from the night package? The window changing out the windows would be ok to switch out. The problem is that you have to switch out the rear windshield which could be costly and possibly create other issues. They have already agreed to tint the side windows, it's the rear windshield that's a problem currently.

Ok! didn't see that. Yeah, will definitely present it to the dealer to see if it works for them.
