Lag/Delay when using Carplay

Lag/Delay when using Carplay
Is anyone else experiencing lag when using carplay? I understand that it is expected when using it wireless due to wifi, but this happens to me even when using it wired. Apple music has a decent response when pausing or skipping songs, but apple and google maps is definitely laggy/ low fps, and has a bad response and delay when dragging the map around, etc. This was not a problem when I first picked up the car until now. I have a tried a different cable and resetting my iphone but it did not change anything.

I’ve recently noticed as well. CarPlay is very slow and laggy in all aspects. Waze will take about a minute to fully load and my location will jump around on the map. If I get a message, a full 30 seconds go by before Siri will narrate. I noticed it start lagging a couple of days ago. To me it feels like the phone is struggling to keep up. Fortunately for me, If I reboot my phone, it goes back to normal. I just assumed that this is probably related to iOS 16, but I think MBUX may have also received some sort of update recently since I received an alert on my Mercedes app that my services were updated.

I have a 14 pro with ios16. When I use carplay in other vehicles there is no delay or lag, so I don't think it is the phone struggling to keep up, but rather MBUX having some issues. Is there a way to check for updates for the system, or see what version of MBUX I am on? I don't know if I have received any ota updates since I have not gotten any notifications about it on the Mercedes me app.

Down in the south where I live we barely got our first cold morning today in the 50s F. When I got in the car I noticed that apple maps was not lagy and everything moved smooth as carplay would normaly function. When I got out of work midday temperatures shot back up to the 80s F and carplay was back to its usual lag and delayed state. Ever since I bought the car in May and up to this point, temps have been regularly in the 90s and 100s here, until today. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but I wonder if the cause of this problem could be the head unit computer getting too hot and slowing down performance, causing the carplay issues?
