W206 C300 Burmester Sound Retrofit - Possible?
Hello all!
I just became the proud owner of a 2022 C300 AMG Line, which I am absolutely in love with. However, althought the car has the Exclusive package, chip shortages caused MB to install a basic, horrible 5 speaker system. It has Burmester logos on the doors, but no twitters, and what sounds like paper cones all around.
My question is: Will MB USA provide a solution to those of us who paid for the Exclusive package and didn't receive premium audio to retrofit the Burmester sound when it becomes available?
If not, is there a kit out there that could be installed to improve sound?

Thank you for the response. I was more thinking about Mercedes Benz installing the components after they become available, since we technically paid for them and didn't receive a credit for their absence.

Even though the C has three trim levels (Premium, Exclusive, Pinnacle), when you look at the build sheet or MSRP, they still listed the various options included in those trim packages separately with a dollar amount for each. So, for example, even though the Exclusive trim is supposed to include Burmester, if this option wasn't included on your vehicle when it was built you shouldn't see the DA6 Sound Package (Burmester) which was a $650 option.

I see that now, you are right! I guess the question is, is the wiring and all in place and ready to be retro fitted (even at a cost to us) when it becomes available? I really would rather not void my warranty installing an aftermarket system.

I also have the 5 speaker system and for me it mostly lacked bass so I installed a trunk mono amp and sub. If just want your speakers to sound better then I’ll recommend a AMP for powering them up and a DSP to tune them. This alone would make a huge improvement in sound quality but if you want more then get the speakers upgraded. Find a good reputable shop to install it for you and DO NOT cheap out.

There is this company from Gemany making sound upgrades

The standard, non high end Burmester system has the same paper cone mid drivers as the base 5 speaker system.
In Canada with the chip shortage, instead of the Burmester upgrade, there's an "advanced sound system" upgrade which has 9 speakers I believe and adds tweeters and two surrounds along with a 225w amp; from what I've seen, these tweeters are the same plastic cone units similar to the pre Burmester era stock systems. The standard Burmester systems have silk dome tweeters which are similar to the ones in the HK systems post 2010/2012 era. Pre 2010, HK tweeters were a metallic material similar to the Alupreme material like in the mids and woofers. B&O and Burmester High End systems have speaker cones made with a woven fiber material

Burmester
I'm currently waiting on a 2023 C300 with Pinnacle trim, after reading up on this thread I am concerned if my car has the Burmester; any way to physically confirm if the Burmester is present or not besides the missing tweeters?
Thx!!

Check the vin on mb.vin and if you don’t see “DA6” or “810” codes then it will probably not have it. Check on your build sheet first though.
