Real 0-60 time?
Hello all. I’m looking to buy a new (22 or 23) C300 and one question I have nobody seems to be able to answer.
The 0-60 time. I’ve heard mid 5’s with the 4matic, 6 on the Mercedes website and 7.1 on many other reviews online. I also just got done watching a YouTube video saying it ran a 7.7.
Can anyone clarify for certain? Is there a big difference between 2wd and 4matic? 7 seconds seems kinda slow. Thank you.

Yes, the 4matic times are pretty consistent. It’s the 2wd that doesn’t seem to be. I watched one video comparing the 330i to the c300 and according to them the 2wd C300 does 0-60 in 7.7.
If that is true I would not touch the thing. I’ll be getting passed by Civics. Anyone have a C300 who can comment on its speed?

I don’t believe it. Usually MB is pretty conservative with their declared 0-60 times and if their website says 6 seconds also for the rwd version you can bet it’s faster than that
this test in Australia measured 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than 6 seconds for the C300 rwd

I guess you just gotta get that turbo ready by holding the brake to get that 6 seconds.
It just confuses me that the 4matic is consistently mid 5’s in all tests I can find and the 2wd is 6 to 7. I thought the 2wd would be faster in a straight line, assuming traction is not an issue.
Maybe they tune the 4matic differently? Anyone?

The 2wd should be faster in a roll race because of less weight and not getting off the line. If you want a fast car - this is not the one. One of the slower cars in the segment and it's a new platform.

I just broke my 2023 C300 4Matic in and got mid-high 5’s for 0-60. Reasonable for the segment of car. What is hard to think through without driving it is the effect of the “mild hybrid”. As a guy who is used to non-aspirated and turbocharged engines, I honestly did not want the mild hybrid, but really notice the torque boost that makes it seem much stronger when using half pedal. The turbo seems more conservative than BMW, but - this car is 400 LBS heavier and MUCH more substantial. Once it gets north of 2000 RPM - the turbo kicks in and you go. IF you want more - I wonder if a stage one tune is out there - or just get a C43….
