Commercial car wash

Commercial car wash
Concerned about what to disable when using a commercial car wash. It seems that I should disable the rear camera, hands free trunk, fold the outside mirrors. I don’t understand about keeping the key 10 ft. away from the car. Just bought the car and washed my last car often during the winter months. I only worried about the ‘swinging straps wrapping around and rear spoiler, and ripping off during the wash. Any more advise ?

My advice would be to never take this car or any car to a commercial car wash unless it is touch free. Those "swinging straps" and brushes will mar your paint over time.
Using a hand car wash is your best option.

Do it yourself. Have a look at the foam guns available from Griot's Garage that use a household pressure washer to lather up the car. They work really well; I bought a kit so that I can keep the car relatively clean during the winter months. You don't have to use a wash bucket & microfiber mitt unless you really want to so it's possible to get the car pretty darn clean without getting soaked doing it when it's cold and dreary.
