On your dash, do you see the symbol?
On the UK roads, it doesn't always come on because the white line markings are not always clear. However when on motoway or dual carriage it does come on and thats when the active lane assist comes on.

Is your car fitted with 1 or 2 cameras in the front windscreen?
If you only have 1 camera, your car is not fitted with the hardware to support the more advanced driving assist systems as far as I know.

Are you sure you have the active cruise control?
You need this option in the uk which gives you the extra cameras so it can do the lane keeping and adaptive cruise control so it can match the speed of the car in front.

David, can you specify more clearly what hardware is needed to code the assistance systems you mention here?
Does it require 2 cameras in the front windshield? What about sensors behind the bumpers?
