Dashcam (how do you get it?)
Anyone know how I can get the Dashcam (OEM version) for the car? They say it isn't regionally allowed, but i bought my parents a brand new E350 when i bought my 2023 C300. Theirs had it, mine didn't and they say you cannot add it because of legal reasons? I am so confused. I don't have it in the paid services in the app.

You can get it retrofitted, but not at a dealer. Ask @rjautomotive

It will be a headache trying to install the OEM camera and coding the car for OEM dashcam, on top of which the car will NOT record when parked. If you want 24/7 dashcam, the factory one on any model won't suit your needs.

I would suggest to install a 3rd party dashcam, like Garmin Dashcam Mini 2, you tuck the cable and you will forget it's there.
I have the OEM dashcam and it's barely better than nothing. It doesn't record audio, and it divides the videos in 2 minute clips instead of full rides.
The Garmin mini I had on my A7 also has a snapshot button that makes a separate clip of 30 seconds whenever you want.

I was having these issue before I bought the camera. I had the Garmin one before also and it is a good unit also. I prefer the ring one, connects with home security as well as two way talk etc..
