Does Custom Coding Void Warranty?
Looking to see if anybody here has actually purchased something like this and has then taken their car to the dealership for whatever reason. Did they say anything about it? Did they honor the warranty as long as the custom code didn't actually affect what was broken? (ex: traffic sign reading doesn't affect a timing belt snap). In case it matters, I'm in the US.

Usually dealership doesn't care about such things, unless of course problem you are coming to them with is caused by coding.
Dealership is always happy to help, as this means money for them (either from your side or MB side in case of warranty repairs). Unless of course they know they will have a problem with getting their money back from MB

However in case of serious and expensive failures (i.e. engine or gearbox fail), manufacturers start to dig deeper, to find possible reason to reject warranty claim. They do have all the coding of any car in their DB's, so they can see if coding been changed and if this change been authorized by them. Usually they don't do that, it's just in case of major/expensive failure.
Now, whether they will reject the claim might depend on country law. In some cases it might be required for the to prove that this change is in any way related to the failure.
