Aircon on by default?

I’m in the UK and now that it is a bit warmer I wish to have the aircon on all the time while driving however it default to being off.
Ive gone through the settings and the driver comfort section which is where I would expect any settings to be only has settings for the sun blind and easy exit feature but no mention of aircon/climate control.

Does everyone have to turn it on manually every time or is there a setting elsewhere I have missed?

Are you talking about the a/c or the recirculation? yes the recirculation does turn off from time.

The A/C. If I get in the and start it then the A/C will be off even if it was previously on or if pre entry climate control was switched on (which does turn on the A/C).
However if I tap on my car profile to confirm before starting the car then the previous setting is kept.

Oh never mind, I thought I read it as it automatically turn off while driving.

If you are the only driver, then turn off the profile prompt, so it always starts up with your profile and then everything should be back to how it was last time. AC on, etc. If there are other drivers, then you have to select your profile each time, otherwise it essentially starts up in the guest profile with whatever settings that has until you select your profile. In the personalization settings there should be an option to enable the profile prompt. These newer cars also have fingerprint reader, which you can turn on/off, so that it switches to the correct profile depending on the current driver once you hold your finger on the reader. The W223 also has face recognition, not sure if the W206 has that, too.

There is only one profile and that is the default. So when I get in the car I’m given the option to select my profile or guest. If I ignore it and start the car then after a few seconds it activates my profile and I hear the sound system bass level increase for example. But in the meantime it has turned off the aircon.

Is there an option to bypass the profile selection entirely then?

Yes, there should be an option in the user profile settings.

I don’t see an option. I only have options to customise my profile and to turn on pin protection/register fingerprints.

I don't have access to a car with MBUX 2 at the moment, so have to check the next time. None ever prompted me to select a profile, however they probably only had one profile, the guest profile. If there isn't an option anymore then that would be another regression of MBUX from the previous COMAND system. I have this option in my 2019 C63S coupe with COMAND NTG 5.5. If it's unchecked then it just starts up with the last used profile, otherwise it presents a prompt to select a profile.
