2023 C300 oil change (B)

General question…2023 rwd c300

Is it really necessary to get the oil change and basic service at Mercedes?

I did the A service, I was there for almost 3 hours, the food counter was closed because it was 3 pm, and it seems it’s just bagels and donuts, then they forgot to put air in one of my tires leaving me 10 pounds short. I then had to pay to put the air in myself. And $300 for a basic oil change. Not a luxurious experience.

B service seems to include a synthetic oil change and flush and it’s supposed to be over $700. Can I just do that at a general place?

You do not have to go to the dealership to complete the service, just make sure to do it as per schedule and keep all records of it done.

I change oil every 5,000 miles at a local shop (around $165 with original MB oil and filter) and I take the car to the dealership only when official services are due (every 10,000 miles) for the reminder of the warranty. After the warranty expires, I'll take it to the local shop every time.
However when you your the car to the MB dealership for service, shop around in the official MB network because pricing can be very different from place to place.

I only go to the dealership when there are recalls, that's it.

I paid up front for service from MB at a discount when I leased my car. Probably still overpaid. The cost of lookin’ good in a Mercedes. But will keep in mind less expensive private shops.

i am just going to do just oil changes and inspection at the dealer for like $200 dollars annually. Service A is just an oil change and checking some fluid levels and Service B is oil change plus Brake fluid change. Brake fluid change at every 20k miles is way over kill I think. I don't think i have change my clk500 brake fluid for over 10 years and still works perfect. and also 2019 nissan sentra with 98k miles and never changed brake fluid as well.

When I do the math $200 dollars oil change with inspection annually for up to 10000 miles seems pretty reasonable for a mercedes. And if I want to do a brake fluid change it's $220 and plus oil change is $187 together is like $400 and that's basically service B right there.
