Alternator amperage in c300
Does anyone know the amperage of the alternator in the w206? I’m running a sound system in it and I’m looking to run 2000w from it. But I’m not sure the amperage it is to determine if it’s enough for my car. Also does anyone know if the alternator to battery lead is 0 gauge or not? Thanks

Google searches on "W206 alternator" result to nothing.
However W206 C300 has the same engine of the 2020 GLE 350. It should be the same alternator but take it with a grain of salt.
Hence if you look for GLE 350 alternator you see the part number is 000-906-99-05-80 and according to MB parts catalogue, it has 200A output

It is my understanding tat the starter and alternator have been combined in a 48-volt mild hybrid system in the W206.
I don't think you could run a 12-volt sound system from it.
You would need to use the 12-volt battery.

The alternator/motor current rating is fairly irrelevant as it uses the 48V system. What is important is the bi-directional dc-dc converter which is used to keep the 12v battery topped up and also charge the 48v system from a 12v battery charger. A lot of these are rated up to 3kw but you’ll need to ask the dealer what the current/wattage capacity is.
