I have a check light engine and dreading going to the dealership to get a diagnostic test. I have PTSD from the last 2 visits. 1. regardless of whether you have an appointment expect to wait 30-24 min to get checked in for a service. 2. driving back home after the service check light engine comes on and my advisor told me to call the service center 3. my adviser claimed he was off the day I picked up my car but I caught him at work - what else did he lie about (he was trying to avoid getting me a car while my car was in the shop for 2 days)? 4. I've 50K miles on my car and had to replace my tires 5 times so far - my advisor claims that is "normal".
MBZ used to be great to deal with. Now I feel totally taken advantage of and I can't trust anything they say. And yes, you guessed it... single female driver in my 60s. This is MBZ Stevens Creek, Santa Clara CA.

Sorry to hear.

Welcome to the MB ownership “experience”.

Your story is normal and common.

Hmm, I would not generalize it. It's particular dealerships problem rather than MB. I haven't had bad expirience with mine so far.

You should try going to another Mercedes dealer closest to you. Experience may be better. 50k miles and replaced tire 5 times? How, 10k miles per set of tires?

I agree with others to try a different dealer. The service experience at mine has always been very good. 10,000 miles per set of tires doesn't make any sense on a C300. I go through summer tires quickly on my Porsche, but no reason why you'd need or want to run those sorts of performance tires on a C300... Something there doesn't add up...

Check engine light is usually emission related, even a loose gas cap can trigger it, it could also be a bad oxygen sensor. If it is flashing then it is immediate attention, if it is just solid then it is usually not a big concern. Do keep us posted what was the cause of the check engine light after the dealership scanned the codes. Hopefully it is just a minor thing so you can enjoy the vehicle again. There are so many computers in modern MBs and so many variables.
