EVAP System Leak

Hi all,

I had a check engine light come on today when driving and diagnosed. The star/obd2 error code came back up as P240200 - DMPMEmax: EVAP System Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit High no sub type information.

I had a recall performed last month where the fuel pump was swapped. The car doesn't smell of gas after fueling up nor have I noticed any leaks in the rear seat. There was also zero difference in the drive quality or feel. I understand this issue doesn't impact performance as much as it does emissions since fuel vapor is leaking.

I've checked that the gas cap is secured and even refueled. The CEL persisted.

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue on their w206 or after having the recall completed? I've cleared the code and will take it to the dealer if CEL pops up again.

If the Error was "stored" and accepted the Clear command, then maybe was just transitory.

Unfortunately, the check engine light came on again, two days after clearing the same code. I'll have to take it to the dealer.

You can replace the pump yourself. Behind rear passenger wheel. 2018 gls amg63 oem pump was 142$. You'll find diagram for pump location with Google.
