Did they install this correctly? Both Rear window trim.

Both rear window strips were falling down on my 2023 c300 4matic. And just got it back today. Both windows have gaps at the top. I can stack a few Pennie’s and put it in at the highest part. I am currently waiting to hear back from the dealer. It makes the car look like it was in an accident. If I look at the top it’s like it bulged out.

I rather have the falling strips than this big gap. Obviously it’s not installed correctly.

The dealer just rescheduled to get that repaired again in 2 weeks. Will update when it gets fixed.

Yep, it happens. Happened to me. Dealership was replacing trims on both sides because of bronken strips. On one side it was ok, but on passanger side they did exacly same as on you pics.
On the inside of the trim, few centimeters from the top there is a little "hook", that should "latch" to the door. As it's not that straightforward to install this trim, as it requires a little bit of manouvering with it, they sometimes fail to alling this hook correctly, so it doesnt go under the metal part, instead it's on top of it and it besically pushing whole trim away from the door.
So all in all it's just a messy work done by the dealership...

I am pretty sure the technician doing the installation notice the gap if he doesn’t he shouldn’t be working in a Mercedes dealer. Did you get yours fixed properly? I will be bringing my car back in on sept. 2nd. I hope it gets fixed to factory spec.

You would think he should notice this and fix it. would you?
Honestly? I'm pretty sure he did notice that, but maybe his shift was coming to an end ro he just didn't give a tiny rats ***. I got the car with gaps like you shown.
Fortunately i had another visit scheduled, as they were waiting for parts, so told them about it and they fixed it. If they wouldn't i would fix it myself.

I guess the tech would care less until customers complain about it. I took the car in today and they fixed both sides in 2 hours. Finally it looks perfect like factory again. I can call it case closed.
