Limited slip differential option?

I am about to order a CLS 63 (w/o PP) and would like to know if the limited slip differential is a recommended option. I see it is $2,000. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ask yourself this:

I have 516 ft-lbs of torque at 1700 rpm's and one drive wheel.

Its pretty pathetic that MB does not make the limited slip diff. standard. Especially on a performance car. I never understood that.

06 CLS55 w/ P030, 05 Jag S Type R, 05 TBird-68 Dodge Charger R/T-440 w/4speed I'm original owner
I have it on my CLS 55 included with the P030 Performance Package (so nice of Mercedes to include it-only a $9500 option)
Only way to fly with all that torque

My CL63 AMG with PP doesnt even get it. I agree it makes no sense that this is not standard on all AMG cars.

Get the LSD - you will regret it otherwise..

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.
There's also an aftermarket LSD by Quaife as an alternative, although I'm not sure if the current offering will work on a 2012 CLS63.
For something like this, I would think the application needs to be specifically built for the vehicle.

A Quaife LSD will also be much cheaper in price than the Mercedes version.

I would ask myself this if it were a question.
