Here is the math I did I know its crazy....
Brembo kit $7200
ECU $3400
DCT Steering wheel $1500
sell my stock brakes $1500. overall cost $10600 vs pp at $7500.
Now lets say you don't care about the brakes and just want red calipers $600, overall cost: $5400. I'm sure the resale on the pp is better than ecu upgrade and dct steering wheel.

I'd vote go black. I saw my car's black twin the other day, and it looked clean & mean. And re: the HREs, I went with the satin charcoal P40S, so if you want to wait another week-ish, I'll be posting pics. As far as the PP versus tune / other items, this car with PP output is an animal. I traded in my GT500 (with goodies that pushed wheel hp over 600), and this PP car feels just as fast. Good point about resale value with PP versus aftermarket mods from Rob too (because all of us trade / sell sooner than we should).

I'm on the edge of my seat!
Thanks - I went 20x9 in the front and 20x10.5 in the rear. I don't want to rub / have to do any suspension modifications to fit some decent rubber back there. We went with an ET30 in the front and an ET45 in the rear. I ordered some Nitto Invos (love the grip & they still work when it gets chilly) that are 255/35 & 295/25.
Thanks. Pretty sure your lowering / tune / etc. will rock the CLS world pretty soon!

Well I picked up the black one on Friday. I really didnt take it out for heavy driving until today but the car does definitely move for a 4100 lb beast. As I stated in the opening post I got the Perf Pack, LSD, P1, Carbon Fiber, Driver Assist, Night Vision, Forged 19's and few other inconsequential options.
While I know I could have got the non PP and tuned it, Im glad I got the stiffer suspension. I really like to push the car in the turns and the body roll is less than even my W212 E63 with the front springs. The steering under the PP is great with a "tautness" at heavier speeds and you can always adjust it but reducing the suspension to comfort or just standard AMG sport. The car really moves from a dig and the LSD is a must for the price. Ill tell you this, if you are comfortable in pushing a big car and know its limits, drive it with ESP off (not sport or on but entirely off) so you get the full compliment of tq.
Im doing a "hard break in" like I have on all my AMGS (this is my 5th) by running the car up and down the RPM's but not leaving it in the higher range for long periods of time.
I really enjoy the stock grunt too- its even louder than my E63 which shocked me. Ill be doing the resonator delete option along with the KW lowering (the car sits way too high) and wheels and few other goodies but nothing too extreme. And once I hit 1k Ill up the hp with a tune to reach the max that the car can offer. I already did the instant mod: tint. Now I gotta eliminate those ugly a$$ orange reflectors
Im all over the place with wheels but I know Im going with HRE's... hummmmmm P43S's or maybe 793RS's??
Here are some cheap Blackberry pics when I was picking it up.

Congrats on the pickup..with everyone getting white, the black was a nice change. Looks evil in black, such a ballsy car.

Vic55,
I too have a black 2012 but mine is obsidian black. What kind of rims do you have on your E63 (they are fresh)? I am thinking about going with a carbon fiber finish.
I purchased some rims for my Aston from 360 and was not pleased as the clearcote started to peel in less than a year and the car spends 10 months in storage.![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)
Any suggestions?

Real-life considerations do play a role on color selection. The road I have lived on for several years was gravel, and dusty, until early this year, when it was finally paved (my tax dollars at work, however slowly). With the dust in mind, my 2007 BMW 335 hardtop convertible was (and is -- I still have it, and love it) "Platinum Bronze," a metallic beige which closely matches the color of the dust. A brilliant choice, if I do say so myself.
But things change. I tore down my house, and temporarily moved elsewhere while my new house was built. With the announcement that my road would finally be paved, I decided that my next car (I was leaning toward an M5) would be white, as a couple of cars I previously owned were -- my favorite car color, by far.
The new M5s lagged during development, and were uninspiring when renderings finally showed up. Meanwhile, the CLS63 were the buzz. I made my decision before the color options were released. But when the Diamond White showed up as a choice, it was a bonus. A non-metallic white would have been just fine; the metallic tinge of the Diamond White is better.
I'm delighted with Diamond White, but let's face it: on this car, any color would be just fine.
Black cars are not my thing (to me, overly formal [might go with black for an S-Class, or if they ever re-introduce the Adenauer Limo
]), and too hot for the South. But if you maintain the finish as you say, why not?
