I ordered a 2012 CLS 63 about a month ago on one that was already in the build queue (I was told) and would be delivered to the dealer in early-mid Dec, and so I put down a deposit. I was just told yesterday that due to some supply problem (some part or supplier maybe?), it wouldn't be built until Dec 9 and I would receive it about 45 days later. I know of no way of verifying this, so not sure if this is BS or not, or if it's a "bait and switch" to get me to place the order. Has anyone experienced anything like this lately and does this sound legit? I can always order elsewhere, but I don't want to go to the back of the queue again.

I ordered mine july 29th they told me the total time would be 4 months from that date, I got a call late September and they said that I cannot change my order car is now scheduled to be built in mid october. I did not hear anything from the Mercedes for a while so I gave them a call october 19th because my car was scheduled to be built on the 20th of october , they then told me that my build date is now november 30th and I might get my car in late december or january and they gave me the same reasons that they gave you ,needless to say I was very disappointed because I have been looking forward to having my car in a couple of weeks from now

My build date is supposed to be 11/1, my dealer says the car is being built now and I may get it before end of year but likely early Jan. What contact info w/ MBUSA are you guys using to find out more details?

My order was placed on Sep. 3 and my build was just completed with shipping this week. Perhaps it is a particular option/color issue? Mine is Lunar Blue/Ash with carbon trim and the P30 package. All options other than carbon ceramic brakes, night vision, and carbon fiber rear spoiler.

In the last few years benz has switched to japanese companies for audio/ telematic modules and other modules and those are most of the issues that they are having right now.

2 to 3 weeks to ship depending on weather. Maybe about a week to clear vpc although the amg custom orders are supposed to clear on a priority basis. My dealer is going to email me the carrier info tomorrow and then we can track the ship via gps. Congrats!

I talked to Gen'l Mgr at dealer today, was told the designo color (graphite) caused the delay. They agreed to give me a loaner Merc for the duration of the delay. Just have to wait...

If I get the cls dec or jan there's no way I'm going not going to drive it until it warms up in april, so winter tires for the not so bad days and my dodge ram for the blizzards.

As an update, no shipping date yet but I am told soon. As a correction, travel time is 2 days but likely a week at VPC so I should have car in 2 weeks I am told by my dealer.

Just learned my car is in transit on a ship called Floriday Highway headed to the Baltimore VPC with a 11/15 scheduled arrival. Did you comfirm your car is on the same ship? If so, here is the url to the tracking site:

Dealer said it's on the water, but he has no way of knowing on what ship or how to track it, he's a low volume local dealer so he may not have the connections/juice of your guy. I can only hope it's on the same ship as yours!

Edit: Just found out it's on the same boat, nice.
