Our family has a long, 80 year long relation with the Daimler Benz owners and East London factory in South Africa.

From the mid 1930's

We have been buying Mercedes Benz Trucks and fine Automobiles ever since.

So I called one of my close associates at the factory to ask of the said CLS63TT, his answer was as simple as I stated in my comment earlier. Its a standard CLS63TT.

PP cars will be available next year 2012, in South Africa.

The M being Under-rated or not, bottom line is the AMG has more displacement and more torque. Assuming equal launch, and equal shift times, the AMG should be faster with PP. Its pretty simple math.

One would think but there are other reasons why the M5 can make a strong statement.

DCT vs MCT tranny (this is a big piece- the DCT is more efficient and allows more effective hp to the ground)
Gearing
CoEd
HP and TQ over the curve
Weight (this one im not sure who has the edge though- so many different sources)

It must be noted that when all new BMW M-Powered, pre production models arrive in South Africa, they are "Homogolation" models, which means they are seriously very powerful and have the lightest equipment fitted to them from their production factory in Germany.

This should tell us that the Mercedes in it's standard form is nothing to be taken lightly.

who said it will arrive with a 63TT AKA 5.5TT ??

if they are going to but TT in that car, i think it will hae a smaller engine, maybe the 4.7TT !!

it is not PP version and it was showing more HP and TQ on the dyno

intresting to see Power loss is less than 10% while th M is abou 15-16%.

standard CLS as less power, no LSD, no better suspension
