So jealous.

There was a post in one of the other forums a few months ago. An owner went in for a brake job and was accidently quoted for new CC pads & rotors - $14K!!!

That alone would keep me away from this option. Its not just a one-time cost.

It surprises me that anyone would be needing a brake job already considering the CC rotors should last the life of the car

Also, if you're in the US, I'd triple check that the car would even have the CCs - they are not, per MBUSA, offered as an option in the US. They might even show as an available option when you go through the program, but when the dealer either submits the order or receives confirmation that the build has started, they will be deleted.
A guy that lives up my street owns CLS63 with CC brakes.

Nice buy there...

I was looking for the same car and asked for the carbon brakes.
Dear near me told me no one would build a car with the 12k brakes.
But was willing to look for one he found 2 on the west cost.
This was a few months ago and both in black and could not get any kind of deal.
At the same time I was looking for a s65 as well.

I would like to know if I can put the carbon brakes on my s65 lol?
The brake dust on the s65 is the worst ever i have seen.
Stops good tho for how heavy the car is.
3 main reasons im interested in changing them is the dust & the calpers look real bad now last I love cazy mods

One of the perks..
The car also rides better and accelerates quicker (marginally but still...) then non CCB equipped car.
Roughly 40lbs lower unsprung weight does wonders.
I had worn out rotors in just 15k miles on my S600,in 17k miles on SL65 and in 19k miles recently on S63TT.
I do a lot of very heavy braking from 150+ mph to zero on the first traffic light coming back from my warehouse (in Mexico) at 5 am (no cops anywhere) it is brutal on brakes.
CCBs were the first and most important option I requested for my new CLS (October prod.)

My local dealer had a black 2012 with Pef Pack and CC brakes. It listed at $125k and sold it to me for $112k. That was the first offer they gave over the phone. While I guess that I could have haggled, it seemed pretty fair. (I was going to order a 2013, but I would have had to wait until Jan/Feb for delivery. Plus the only option that the 2012 didn't have that I wanted was the carbon fiber interior, so the discount and the immediate gratification won the day.)

I love the brakes! I do not know how much of a difference in feel they make compared to the stock brakes since this is the only CLS that I have driven. But they have greet feel, and great stopping power. I have a C63 with the two-piece Perf Pack brakes, and the CC on the CLS feel like they stop the bigger car better. Plus, NO BRAKE DUST!!!!! I have HREs on each car and the C front wheels get filthy the first drive after a wash.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Off topic here: The 19" wheels look better with the larger cc brakes' larger rotors. Otherwise, larger wheels make the rotors look smaller.

How long to the OEM Ceramic Carbon brakes actually last? lifetime?! I hear about 100,000 miles. The standard AMG brakes last about 50,000mi so that's only twice as much? Just my front brake service with rotors was $3000. I wonder how much the CC rotors are each!
