Did you SEE and FEEL Designo before you bought it?
MB Drivers: hello.....
could probably post this on any model board, but figured I'd post here...
as I'm nearing the build date.
I have been back and forth about the Designo options and just wondered
how many owners actually got to see and feel and drool on, or what have you, on the actual paint and leather packaging before you agreed to ordering it.
Any and all comments welcome

Ok for you I did this today 
I went down to a local Benz dealer and found a Designo SL63- the leather felt no better than the premium leather I touched in an E63TT. But it did feel better than the non premium leather I felt in an E63 Estate (as expected).
Now the color was the key part as it was a very unique shade of lighter tan which was quite good looking to offset the darker colored exterior on the vert.
I went down to a local Benz dealer and found a Designo SL63- the leather felt no better than the premium leather I touched in an E63TT. But it did feel better than the non premium leather I felt in an E63 Estate (as expected).

I went on a factory tour to AMG and they had the full designo paint and leather line for me to grab and sniff 
I ended up choosing two tone black/maroon leather but went with standard metallic black since the Designo paint options are crazy expensive (and in some cases difficult to maintain/repair).

One thing with the Designo leather you get the premium leather on the dashboard and doors. Without Designo you get the MB Tex on the Dash and doors.
The premium leather is a Nappa Leather, I believe the Designo leather is a little higher grade than the Nappa leather.
On BMW's Nappa is the their premium leather and the Meriano is the Individual/Designo leather. Texture wise it does feel a little different but the softness and over feel of a higher grade leather is present.

A designo paint really pops compared to other paints, was in the showroom couple of months ago, saw a designo graphite S Class and a regular grey S class. The difference between the cars was night and day. The Designo paint shows more depth and flakes . I would say just flat out amazing compared to the regular paint.

My dad picked up a designo (platinum black) S class last year and gets a ton of compliments on the paint, even thought every other car in his area is an S. It really stands out. The paint and the metallic flake really pop in the sunlight.

this is one amazing color......would it be lame inside an Iridium silver body??
with CF?

and yes, those are some poppin' colors......my black swirl marks really pop in the sunlight too LOL

it's tough with the CF inside you know?
and plus my 550 is black inside......the light ash IS a nice contrast between vehicles in my AMG.....
But a light tint and BOOM, would never see the savory-**** blue seats coming
think I might have to do the blue
maybe.....don't know yet

ahh you know, the knicks and scrapes from rocks and what not....
have a few that are kind of harsh....
going to def consider a clear bra or some sort of protectant for the newbie you know?
