I have had a set of CH's... the only other set(s) of wheels I have had in 10 years is BBS. 3 Sets of LM's, 1 CH, and I set of OZ's...

BBS CH in 20 inch set up are tanks weightwise (more than 6lbs over this exact setup). Id say if, and I say if, you had a 20x9 and 20x11 CH set up would be around 30lbs each. Thats about 8 lbs more on each corner of unsprung weight or 32 lbs total. Using a conservative unsprung to sprung weight translation, thats like taking 128 lbs out of your car (4x's ratio). I have driven my cars on many borrowed wheels- wheels only weighing 5-7 lbs more (only ) and you can tell the difference easily from a dig- easily. In fact I was at HRE and they put a set of heavier wheels on for a photo shoot. These wheels weighed about 27lbs each- no brainer I could tell the difference.

And as mentioned they are cast and susceptible to bends, cracks etc. The quality is lesser in regards to fabrication (R and D), composition (forging), and fit and finish. They chip after a while (I owned a set) and clearly if you take a close up look at the wheel you will see the difference in build. Im sure there is more that experts can chime in on.

They dont come in custom set ups (nothing would ever fit a CLS) and they are not conical in nature. Please find me a BBS CH setup with 20x9 and 20x11 et 25 and et35. Now with that being said, they do fit an audience just not for me. Im driving a 115k car and what the quality of wheels to match along with perfection in looks. Im picky and work hard for what I have and wheels along with cars are my passion. HRE caters to this type of buyer. They do have the more affordable lines too (without true quality suffering).

I guess its like getting a CLS550 versus a CLS63TT--- pricing is huge and the differences to some are not worth it. To me, I get the best of the model I want and I get the best wheels. The cliche "you get what you pay for" holds true IMHO for wheels.
Very informative post on key differences!
