I think MBH is developing DP's for the CLS63.

I've seen quite a few people just go to the local garage and have them custom made. There's not much to it. If you're looking for a certain level of quality, that may not be your best option. But if you want to have the most control over the product, it might be.

The downpipe is rather straightforward, the question is whether or not it makes power..

from what i've heard downpipes make the most power on a turbo car. is this true? considering the primary cats are the only set of cats on this car it should make power, right? probably 600CLs?

i'd really love to see some nice downpipes + a check engine delete on a p31 car. or a check engine light bi-pass like akropovic does for the m3.

Typically downpipes do make power on turbo cars. The fact that this car only had a set of primary cats was interesting and a first for the most part on a US spec car. We tested the car with 3 different setups... resonator delete, primary cat delete w/ resonator by pass, and lastly primary cat delete with stock resonators.. By passing the CEL is no problem and can be done in the software. As far as the cats are concerned we did not see any gains with the primary cat delete on this car.

thanks for this information, guess i won't be wasting my time trying to delete the primaries. i wonder why that is. perhaps i'll just focus on a resonator delete or something..the car is too quite.

guys,

you see it from outside as 1 primary cat, but inside there is 2 on each side.

the seconed O2 sensor is in the middle and there it is empty ( i saw it by my own eyes )

if anyone opened SLR exhuast, he will know what i am talikg about, because it is the same method, and i am sure it is less than 600 cell.

Reducing exhaust restriction on a turbo car increases power and spools the turbos quicker

which is why i wonder why people haven't been able to make power. it's a fact that it will and should make additional power.

so when you experimented with these various setups, in your opinion which setup sounded better? primary catdelete or resonator delete? i know doing both is too loud..

Hey im the one with the RPM dps and I love the sound its perfect. Inside the car when you are just cruising it seems stock when you punch its loud inside the car you can hear the difference though not too loud you can still have a convo with the passenger and not have to scream but outside the car its crazy loud. That was my one concern since its my dd and its perfect.I have a couple flybys i will post up and make an inside video for you to hear

Its not a matter of being crazy loud, its a matter of making more power.
obviously the less restrictive an exhuast is (No cats, etc..) its going to be louder.
Look at the C63's for example, you fit a free flowing LTH setup on that car and its going to be VERY loud but will make alot of power as well.
