CLS63TT spark plug broke
Just got my car back from the dealer and I am not happy.
*please note that this dealer is not the dealer where I bought the car
At first I thought my straight pipes are leaked and causes the CEL to turned on. But my SA told me that there are no leaking in the exhaust, but the straight pipes causes less back pressure and the CEL turned on because of the less back pressure. I was pretty shocked with his statement.
I said to him, I have many friends with straight piped 157 AMGs, and they all said it works fine, but he didn't believe me.
He told me to put the resonator back on and it should work fine. But I know that is a total BS since I know for sure that I have the same case as Ali_55.
Then I replied to my SA, what if after I put the resonator back on and the CEL is still there.
SA: then we know that your straight piped exhausts causes the engine damage. And we will have to fix your car not under warranty anymore.
I was so frustrated and just drove off with my car (with the CEL on - but the car drives fine). My next plan is to put the resonator back on and bring it to the dealer where I bought the car.
What do you guys think? Should I put the resonator back on first and see what happens?

Id find a mod friendly SA at another dealer and bring the car there. Im not sure if your originating dealer will be flexible just because you bought the car there. I often buy my Benzes from one dealer because they retail me the best pricing but I go to other locations for service.
Ill renew my thoughts that the CEL has nothing to do with the resonator which is post sensor. Its your tune.

I live in SoCal area. I bought my car rom Encino MB and serviced my car at Beverly Hills MB. Do you have any recommendation for which dealer (with mod friendly SA) that I should go to?
Thanks

Im in Orange County and didnt have to take my M157 to any dealer for engine issues. I went to The House for the shock issue on the wagon. If you want a referral PM me.

They will try to bkame your mods so that they will charge you for fixing it.
it shoud clearly state why the CEL pops from SDS.
if you removed the catalysts, than propably thats the case. Resonator, doesn't make CEL on.
my case is diffrent as i had internal damage than can be seen and felt, your engine is smoth running.
but it the same case as mine, SA BS.
