6 to 8 Weeks?

Sup everyone, I just ordered the New W218 CLS 63 AMG with PP and got it in Disigno Magno Alanite. My dealer said it would take about 6-8 weeks but some pppl say it can take up to 4 or 5 monthes to receive the vehicle. I did not get a disigno interior, just black. I was Just wondering if the 6-8 week time frame is really accurate.

Congratulations on the order.

I don't think I'll ever be able to order a new car as I simply do not have the patience to wait for it.

Depends on the dealer. Please post pics when you get the car!

Any Mods planned?

Just visuals first, Rims, painting emblems tint windows. When its time for power ill start to mod it for performance little more down the road. But might get an exhaust as well.

My car was not a designo and it took 10 weeks from day of order to delivery in November of 2011 so I suspect 6 to 8 weeks on a Deisgno is optimistic unless they have a car in the front of the production line that they were able reconfigure. Still, the order backlog may have died down given that the new model has been out for over 18 months at this point.

I really appreciate the info, well also it is holiday season. But you maybe right since its been outfor awhile now. 10 weeks isnt as bad as it sounds, means ill be getting the car right before spring. Def not trying to drive around when theres salt on the road surface. Your lunar blue looks great, nice color choice.

I believe it depends if your dealer has an allocation on the books. It appears more people are ordering that matte color. I think it looks amazing.
I had ordered the same car back in November and the dealer had 2 slots, one for December build with January delivery (about 10 weeks) otherwise the next one was February build with March delivery (about 18 weeks).
I ended up pushing my order to a 2014 with the new 4matic option. I sold my C63 so this will be a long wait...

I ordered a CLS 550 in November, it won't show up until January.

It depends on the dealer, production, etc. I would imagine larger dealers might have a better allotment. But, a special order CLS63 with Designo would have to go through production. And, I know that takes at least three months.

Yes, it is a 4matic AMG. Check out the post on the E forum. I got confirmation from Germany that AMG will have a 4matic option for the S, E and CLS.
I am driving my beat up 13 year old GMC Jimmy and I am not sure I can wait till August.

Thats interesting but if your located in FL I think you might have more fun in a RWD then AWD. I live near DC where it snows every know and then, itll be more worth it gettting a 4matic in areas where there are more rough road conditions.

Has anyone had issues with breaks squealing on the 2013 or 2014 CLS63 S? My new ML63 P30 breaks will squeek at low stopping speed if they aren't absolutely clean. Want to purchase a brand new CLS63 S but afraid I'll have another car with squeaky breaks. Thanks in advance.

There's a TSB out for that. Your dealer should be able to look it up. Requires replacement of front pads and rotors with new ones that have a different material. I just had it done on my SL.

Thanks! I'll mention it to them. Just to confirm the TSB is for the ML63 or are you referring to the CLS63?

I have no issues with my 2013 CLS. No squeaking at all so the TSB must maybe apply to a specific vendor and cars that had the bad pads.

My service advisor said he hasn't had any brake noise issues with the '13 or '14 CLS63. He seemed very determined to make sure my brakes don't squeak so hopefully it will get resolved. A slight squeak is ok as I've heard them on a Bugatti but loud is not good. I wonder if he's concerned because I'm looking at buying the 14'CLS63 S they have on the showroom floor and doesn't want to lose my business if the ML continues to squeak.

It just means you aren't using the brakes hard enough.

Go out on the highway and do some hard braking stops. The squeek should go away.

Any high performance braking system will have squeek issues.

Multiple models. Mine was an SL63 for example. They said they've had several '14 CLS come in to have theirs replaced.

Here is the bulletin# LI42.10-P-058535

That may not work as the dealer said it was a material composition issue and the rotos and pads needed replaced. I doubt MB would go through all that expense if it wasn't.

my '11 SL 550 brakes squeak, I have to do hard stops and it goes away for a while but comes back, it's annoying, anyone know if there is a TSB out for it? How does one check for TSB's?

never had a single squeak on the '12 CLS63 or '13 E350

They are putting new pads on for me. Only had 3k on the previous so hopefully these will do the trick.
