I'm planning on getting all the chrome trim pieces on my white CLS63 painted or wrapped in black including window trim. I've noticed that quite a few members on here have also done this , did you guys use a matte or glossy finish?

The guy doing the work thinks matte would clash with the glossy finish of the carbon fiber spoiler. I plan on adding a carbon fiber diffuser and front bumper as well. I was leaning towards matte but won't be there to see it in person.

What do you think would look better?

Any input is appreciated.

 

I have all the chrome pieces wrapped in satin black, except the roof (in gloss black).. However, I am thinking to change them all to gloss black instead, because with all the matte look, it makes my car look dirty.

 

How much did that cost you?

Do you like the look of the matte?

That's the only reason I am thinking about gloss black because I definetly like the look of matte better.

 

I am also thinking of blacking out the chrome pieces and I am wondering the same questions:
Paint or wrap?
Gloss black to match existing bottom bumper and A-pillar piece or matte which means wrapping the existing gloss pieces
Any pics would be welcome

 

Honestly on my car because my car is satin/matte white, I kinda regret getting the matte black trim. As I have said before, it makes the car looks dirty. If you google renntech adv1 cls63, you'll see that it has glossy trim pieces, which suits the car really well. Honestly, you cant go wrong with both. If you go with matte black, I suggest you to tint the windows really dark it will create that 'frame' look. I hope this helps, I will post pictures of my car tomorrow.

 

Glossy looks better for the trim. Even if the rest of the car is matte... Just my $ .02

 

I got mine painted gloss black along with the door handles, the gloss with the matte makes it pop

Had all the chrome on the vehicle wrapped today in gloss black , looks WAYYY better. Going to have it all painted permanently in the next few weeks.

Price was $300 and it took about 2 hours. I am eventually going to get everything painted but I wanted to have everything wrapped for a couple months first to make sure I like it. Sorry about picture quality was short on time.

eball77, I think you should go with all black grill, it will make the car looks much more aggressive and sporty, especially at night
