These are custom wrapped factory steering wheels. We need another factory wheel to get the next one made. We have 2 ready now but in order to make it so that the next people who order a wheel don't have to wait we ask for your stock steering wheel back.
It's common practice for steering wheels or any interior parts that are custom wrapped. People do the same thing for custom headlights and body parts also.
When you go to Autozone and buy a re manufactured alternator they charge you a "core charge" which is refunded to you once you bring in your used alternator. They then clean up and repair your old alternator to sell it again. This is the same situation. You don't have to send in your factory wheel but it is cheaper

Where are these things wrapped? You guys have your own factory? I'm thinking of getting one, but I'm curious why one would buy this instead of going through MACarbon who specializes in this and can do a custom wheel with custom stitching for around the same price? The carbon fiber sections are actual carbon fiber? Not a carbon fiber wrap? And why isn't the top and bottom of the wheel carbon fiber? Seems expensive for such little carbon fiber.

We use the same factory that alot of German tuners use. (T$(#ART, BR&B$S, etc).
They are built in Germany and are 100% beautiful. Check one of the ones we have instock if you don't like it send it back. The work to cut and adjust the wheel takes time and is not cheap. We aren't trying to get rich from these parts I just wanted to build them the whole time I had my CLS...
