ok so i can totally hear how the tone changes at 04sec....it almost sounds like a vacuum cleaner..... i dont think ive ever heard that with my car......

remember, the noise you are listening for starts immediately and ends right at the 4 second mark.

2012 E350 Sedan, 2007 Ford GT500
I have a E350 with the 276 engine and it seems that the rattling noise persists beyond 4 seconds. It's very loud at start-up but quiets down after a few seconds, but never really goes away. Sounds like a bad lifter. Looks like I'll be making an appointment with the service department soon. How can I get a copy of the TSB PDF?

quite honestly it sounds normal, but then again its a little tough to hear witha microphone in a closed space, some sounds drown out the other. at the moment it sounds like the normal high pressure pump noise.

the 276 is just a loud engine in general due to the high pressure fuel pump and piezo injectors. you may be hearing that at idle. its really hard to determine without hearing it for myself.

276 engines are also having issues with the wrist pins in the pistons, which cause sort of a knock tapping noise.

the pdf for the chain tensioners is floating around one of my threads, doesnt allow me to reupload the same file.
