19 fronts and 20 rears ??

I posted this in the W219 section but no one wants to comment ... anyone here specially the suspension pros want to chime in ........thinking of the SLS and corvettes having 19 " front wheels and 20" rear wheels ...what would be the problem if any in doing that with the CLS55 ? Given the proper size tires of course .....I would imagine more cushioning to the heavy front.. and 20s on the rear with the wider tires .. lighter load .... any thoughts ?

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
I'm no where near a pro on this subject but I don't see any reasons for 20" in the rear to be a problem. There are lots of people who put 20" all around and there have been no problems as long as the roads are good. There is a thread right above yours for this person's new '13 that he is waiting to put on 20X11 in the rear.

I have ran staggered set up on all my cars , on my CLS I was running 11.5 X20 rears and 20x9.5 fronts ...I was asking opinions about running 19" wheels fronts and 20" wheels rears .. example 255/35/19 fronts and 285-30-20 rears ..the SLS has a similar setup, the Corvette does , and so does an optional setup on the new 2014 SL63 .. what that does ( I would imagine ) is offer more rubber in front ( engine weight ) with the 35 aspect ratio , and 30 aspect ratio in the rear .. in lieu of the " truly accurate " setup of running 30 tires fronts and 25 rear .. which I have had on my car

I am aware that with rears of 285-30-20 that would put them 0.7" larger in diameter than the OEM ..but I would imagine 3/4" is negligible ... opinions ?
