Questions about Dyno Mode

Hey Guys -- I am taking my 2014 CLS63-S 4Matic in for a baseline Dyno tomorrow before I do any mods. Hoping you guys can answer a question...

Is there a special way to put the car into Dyno Mode, or is it the same thing as just turning the ESP all the way off?

Also any other words of wisdom from those who have done this before?

Its not the same as ESP off I know this--- my tuner always does it and I think on most models its on the MFD with an option to place the car in that mode. Im sure someone will chime in with exact directions or you can search a few highly traveled forums.

On my SL its on the MFD as an option.

AS Vic stated, it is not the same as ESP off.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
There is this option that might possibly be the dyno mode. It is on one of the screens where you can reset the service interval. I saw it when I was playing around a couple of months ago. It warned me before confirmation that it will disable all interventions. There is a video on MBUSA on how to reset the service interval. Use that same procedure to get into those menus and check it out.

Thanks Guys.... but that did not work either. I saw a couple YouTube videos that said to use the "call accept" button followed by the "OK" button as well... but no dice. I wonder if it's a different sequence for the 2013's and 2014's?

Any other suggestions?

Vic -- On the MFD (display behind the steering wheel, not the Navi screen) I can manually switch off PRE-SAFE Braking, Active Lane Assist, etc., but there is nothing I can see for a Dyno mode. I can also switch off ESP with the button on the console, but that's it.

Still searching online now. There has to be a way to access the hiden menu's the dealer get's into... I just don't know the magical button sequence yet!

i drive them all, fast and hard
if u look up a service reset video, once u get in to that menu to do that, there is teh dyno mode in there as an option

There was a benzwerks youtube video out there , different Benzwrks from the one usually mentioned here, but regardless they have one

I think in dyno mode u get all traction control off too right??

does it generate more HP on a dyno?

This is how I did mine on '13 CLS63 to get to dyno mode

1. Navigate to the mileage screen, while key turned in 1st position ignition
2. Turn the key completely off and make sure all doors are closed
3. Do no touch any pedals or buttons
4. Put key to 1st position ignition
*Make sure in mileage screen
5. Press and hold "Answer" key on the right of the steering wheel followed by OK button on the left .
6. Menu will appear to be Vehicle Data (Circ 30 or something) -- use the UP and DOWN arrow to enable the dyne mode then press OK.

Hope this helps.

on 2014 CLS63P

ignition in first position using key or keyless go
go to mileage screen on MFD (if not already there)
press answer key at right side of steering wheel first and while holding it press and hold ok button on the left side

within about five seconds, hidden menu should appear on MFD and one of the options is dyno testing

OK. Thanks Guys. I FINALLY got it. I was pulling my hair out doing everything exactly as instructed but it still would not work.

Here was my issue... When I went to push the OK button, it always prompted me to reset the trip odometer. After a bunch of attempts, I finally just pushed the OK button to select NO when it was asking me to reset the odometer. Once I did that the mileage screen came back up. From there, I just pushed the call accept button and the OK again and voila'!!

Thanks again guys.

I'll post my baseline AWHP and AWTQ numbers tomorrow after the pulls.

Glad you were able to get into it.
The dyno mode actually does not completely take all of the nannies off. I had to fight this issue with my dealer after I was telling them that I could not do burnouts even in dyno mode.
You can't feather the throttle, you need to mash the pedal quickly to not allow the computer to think and cut off the power. Supposedly this is to save the clutch.

Well... hurry up and wait... The dyno pulls got rescheduled for tomorrow instead. But my HRE P104's get here today, so I'm still charged up. I love Santa!

I will post some pics as soon as I can.
