I still like to get a car that has some passion around it. I rather enjoyed my 2012 CLS63 TT which I got in 2011 and want a 4 door slayer to possibly replace my 0-60 in 3 second and 130.xx trapping tuned RS7. So what would you do with my money

Thanks man, Happy New Year.

I loved my CLS63 during that time period but things that drove me to dump it was the floaty suspension in rear (airmatic) along with the steering feel. I think I could get the car again but in white LOL and this time tune it and do some headers for super powaaaaaaaaaaa. If I get rid of the RS7 I want an AWD variant in 4 doors.

Oh and wheels. Bright Blue ones.

they still use some of those pix(with the 21 HRE) on the HRE site with that CLS you had eh?, lets not overlook that white e63 that had many a' folk drooling a really nice set-up that one was....
is Jaguar still home? did she get assigned some fresh HRE's as well? that exhaust sound! yum

from what I've read around here the '14 cls can handle some serious upgrades for the GO

As of late, I have not been putting on aftermarket wheels... the Jag is stock, the GT3 is stock and the Ferrari came with the Novitecs on it. I did do wheels on the RS7 but doubt I change wheels with my current set up. The Black is stock too.

I don't miss having three cars when I need to fill up
even with lower prices.......

Vic, I'm betting you've never had the pleasure of owning a pick-up truck......I live in NC so it's required LOL

I seem to recall the black having some nice multi-spokes?

Transmission Shift

Jim,

I agree on the shifts, it's definitely noticeable for 2015, a lot smoother compared to my '14 E63. I love the shifts. Thank for the review.

You would lose that bet--- but then you should have known better. Before I went after the sports car and gt car fun side I had a few standard body trucks for commuter purposes. Now Im fortunate enough to have these cars to help me commute, if and when needed.

The C63 Black has nice OEM black spokes with a silver rim liner which sets it up nicely IMHO.

If I ever get a truck it would probably be a Raptor.

No biggie we know what you meant.. Any perf mods for 458? @ very least ECU? Hell I bet that would prolly be equal in $$ to @ least 2 sets of HRE's for maybe 35 BHP

Im running the Capristo Exhaust with no cats which has to give me some minor gains. I really dont care to mod this car engine wise (exhaust was for sound and came with the car). But Jeremy has a tune which I might entertain in a week or so via OBDII. (its a cheap tune LOL)

An interesting, confusing post on the AMG private lounge by the chief editor which says that despite what was in the press release there really aren't any hardware changes to the MCT in the 2015 CLS63.

http://www.mercedes-amg.com/privatel...w-MCT-in-CLS63

Some snippets

There do not appear to be any hardware changes to the MCT but I would suspect they are always working to improve the software programming side.

I saw what was in the Press Release as well. I will ask the team for more clarification when they return from the holidays. As I mentioned, it didn't "appear" that there were major hardware changes from some of the technical info that I looked at a couple of months ago for the CLS63 but it is certainly possible that it is both hardware and software.

There's an MCT software update which should be available any day now. Wonder what that holds for us.

From shop foreman
Just heard back and it looks like the update is out but the writers are working on logging the instructions into the Mercedes database for the technicians to use and apply. Here is the email response I got.

Will Vetter is waiting on the tech lit guys to write the instructions so he can post on Startek. Hopefully this happens soon.

Thanks for info Jim. That would be fabulous if this would indeed increase the response of our slightly less than perfect transmission.

Mainly, I'm looking at your sig. Is the CLS sold or coming? I thought you replaced it by an M5 at one point.

I had a 2012 CLS 63. I sold it and got the M5 which I still have. I'm considering selling the M5 for a 2015 CLS 63.

If that was for me...

Yes I did sell my 2012 cls63 and replaced it with an m5. I replaced my m5 with a 2014 gt3.

Now I'm looking at another cls63 to go with the gt3.

I'm not really excited about much of anything; except for the AMG GT of course.....

My question was for Mainly but it's funny that the two of you happen to have a similar story...cls m5 cls...Mainly, why another cls? I thought you found it too laggy/unresponsive... I love the GT3 btw.

Yes i did find it to be that way. But for one I plan on tuning it immediately. As I will be going for a 2012. Which will only have a bit of warranty left so voiding it it won't be as much of a concern. Plus I hear there's an update coming for the laggy transmission. I imagine the short comings of the car won't be as big an issue this time if I'm paying $70k as opposed to $130k

Thanks

The gt3 is sublime in every way.
The enjoyment is on a different level than I think is possible in any car within $100, 000
