2015 CLS63 impressions

Good stuff! To get to "sublime driving", I went with a Lotus Evora S. I'm still on my honeymoon and can't wait until the spring (in storage for winter time). I seriously considered the GT3 but couldn't find one to test drive plus, Toronto is a Porsche mecca, I wanted something a bit different...and a manual transmission. I may actually be interested by the rumoured GT4 if it ever comes out (Cayman platform).

there is not a new MCT in the CLS63, nor are there any changes that i am aware of to the software profile for 2015 as this is just a visual facelift...
WTF is going on.

Maybe not either in the 2015. This was posed on the AMG Private lounge just now by William Vetter.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission responds even faster
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission is the ideal partner for the powerful V8 biturbo engine. Equipped with the four drive modes "C" (Controlled Efficiency), "S" (Sport), "S+" (Sport plus) and "M" (Manual), the ECO start/stop function and RACE START, the power transmission offers the ultimate in variability and tailor-made dynamism.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmissionnow offers even faster response times: a manual up- or downshift – initiated by the driver on the steering-wheel gearshift paddle – is completed even more immediately than ever before. Particularly in the "S+" and "M" shift modes the power transmission now responds much faster. The tangible driving dynamics are thus enhanced further. This increased immediacy was made possible by optimising the transmission hardware and software. The aluminium shift paddles on the new AMG performance steering wheel can transfer the driver's manual gearshift instructions even faster than before.

If it doesn't have revised software or hardware then all those who bought one thinking it did got hoodwinked. If I'd of bought one I'd be upset and demanding answers.

Maybe, but MB in their press release for the 2015 CLS63 said in no uncertain terms that the MCT had revised hardware and software.

Interesting reading on the PL. I really hope it is S/W and we can update ours.
Mainly: I will probably be selling my CLS63 soon so if you are interested in mine, let me know or PM me

I need to drive a 2015--- Ill be able to tell if there is a dramatic shift in, no pun, shift speeds and paddle to gear change speeds.
I have had 5 MCT cars and they were always relatively sluggish compared to DCT/PDK cars but tunes did help in the overall experience.

I still love mine but I have had an urge lately to get into something lighter and that I can track as well occasionally.
Jag R Type and Z06 are the top 2 contenders
SLS, GT3 and AMG GT are on heart wishlist but not the financial one .

This Jag is a joy to drive. Did you try it? At close to 4,000 lbs, I didn't find it track friendly...feels heavy in aggressive cornering. Looks and sounds amazing for sure.

Yes, I tried it but not in any manner that would make me render an opinion on its track prowess which is the reason why I am leaning more toward a Z06.
I am just waiting for GM to fix the first year bugs.

AMG did finally confirm that the 2015 CLS does in fact have the new MCT on the Private Lounge. Why some of their staff was saying it didn't I don't get. You'd think they'd have their info straight. It certainly felt like a different transmission when I drove it. I've had 3 MCT cars and still have 1 so it was easy to go from one to the other to tell the difference.

Nothing at all, its lasted longer than most cars Ive owned over the last 3-4 years. I just grow tired of cars and move on. Its actually my fave 4 door car that Ive had of late vs F10 M5, E63, E63 TT Wagon, CLS63 TT...

Actually after further review those are not my pics but some appear to be similar. As for the car, I know you love to follow me in my purchases LOL and this car would receive my most emphatic endorsement. Its incredible and its not my fastest or most red in color

Hey, it looks like the RS7 got replaced by a new addiction in exotics: F-cars. Show us some pics of the new prancing horse. Yeah, you know you're gonna need a 4-seater and its practicality eventually.
