Have you had any misfire?

On the highway this weekend, I accelerated to pass a vehicle and the CEL started to flash, then got solid. It felt the engine didn't have as much power and I started to get some vibration, all of that within 3-4 seconds. I pulled over immediately, stopped the engine and restarted it. Everything was fine. I plugged my bluetooth OCB reader and scanned for error code and it revealed 4-5 messages about a misfire of 3 different cylinders. The engine is now running smoothly and pulls as hard as before.

What could have been the cause of this? Spark plugs? The ECU tune I have been running for the last 3 years? Just random incident?

I'll bring it to the dealer just in case but I wanted to get your views first. Thanks.

I had the issue as well. The CEL did not go away and I had to go to a shop to get them cleared. Thankfully it has not occurred again. Sorry I do not have a better answer.

Thanks for the input. I thought a spark plug issue would happen on one cylinder and not on 3 at the same time. But maybe one misfire is causing the others?

Went to my A1 service yesterday and asked them to check the misfire issue. One spark plug was suspicious...they changed them all. They did extensive testing to make sure there was nothing else (coil, electric wires, ...) and everything was fine and they uploaded the latest version of the software just to be on the safe side...my tune is gone. I didn't even know that there was an updated version of the 2012 stock software. Oh well, the car is going this spring anyway so not a big deal for me but I thought I would mention this "risk" of being updated if any of you happen to have misfires.

It's interesting in a way that my ECU is back to stock after driving it tuned for about 3 years as I can appreciate the tune in retrospect. I didn't remember the extent of the difference the tune can make. I now find my car sluggish and the throttle response which was not super great even with the tune is now just bad in comparison. I have to press much harder on the gas pedal to feel anything. I know the tune is not supposed to change the TCU but the shifting seems to be a bit lazier even in manual mode. The acceleration on the highway feels somewhat smoother (so it's more comfortable) but less thrilling for sure. I don't know about the 2015 models which may be more lively with the updated tranny but for previous models, I'll just say that this car needs to be tuned...really.

What year would be the best to purchase if I amlooking for 2012-2014.

Also what problems have you heard of happening on this car?

What miles did these happen in?

I'll let others reply but I don't think there is any significant difference among those years. This spark plug issue is the first and only issue that I have had since I got the car in 2012. I have about 40,000km.
