Anyone running 265 up front on stock rims
Anyone up the 255/30 to 265/30 on the front tires? I know a bunch did it on the rears from 285 to 295 but I havent read much about the front.

Good question; I did the change to 295's out back, and am wondering about the change to 265 up front. There is very little room on the inside as there is a suspension piece within about 1cm of the tire. I guess all things being equal, a 1cm wider tire should be 0.5cm closer to the suspension link. Question is, how much movement of the tire or suspension part before they touch and possibly rub the tire??

when I used a tire comparator I think the estimated width was 0.8cm wider, so it should reduce the clearance by 0.4cm.
did you a spacer in the rear ? I wonder if a thin spacer on the front would help with that tight clearance.
I take it you haven't had any issues with the (slightly) mismatched diameters front and rear re: ABS or traction control ? Probably not enough difference to set it off and L-R discrepancies are probably more sensitively monitored than F-R.

No electronic issues at all with the 295 rears.
I haven't changed the fronts yet, I'm guessing a spacer would be needed, just looking under there...
I went with the PSS tires, happy I did. They have far far more grip than the OEM Conti's, seem to ride just a bit better, and when they do break traction they do so in a much smoother fashion than the stock tires. Wheel hop while spinning has stopped.
That's what I know so far; of course it is winter here, so she don't run much!

Yes I did it and it's a big difference, you can tell. I use Bridgestone potenza s-04 pole , very quiet tires 265-35-10 and rear 305-30-19

KLR just said he has them on his. 275 is definitely possible wi the right offset, you just have to use more of the inner portion of the wheel well. I think 285 may be just too more mechanical grip you can put on the front axles the better it will handle.
275/305 with super sticky rubber is the ideal setup.

I'm thinking 265 front, 295 rear (factory widths 9, 9.5). Maybe the new Continental 6.

Just going on the assumption that more tire generally means more grip. These cars are still big, heavy vehicles after all, and especially on things like tight off-camber turns they could certainly use some more pull. That, and 11" slicks up front would just look silly
