After 10 years I still get excited when these build threads come up...and apparently I'm still gullible enough to believe the thread will conclude by showing a badass running vehicle with no problems and killer track numbers.

When will I learn!!?? Lol

well at least he is posting..all builds from our experience do not go smooth, the more you mod the more things go wrong, its a simple formula that we never learn from.

Am in the same boat now, deciding on what to get cls63 15 4mat. 911 turbo...drove the AMG GTS loved it, but have no idea how the new engine will will handle tunning or the duel clutch gear box for that mater ...but the sound...oh the sound .
Traction was also impressive on the track!

sorry for the hijack. Good luck on the build and looking forward to some results

I hear ya. My frustration doesn't lie with the op in any of these threads, it lies with all the tuners that tell these guys they can deliver something they can't. We're over a decade into the big hp game and the MB aftermarket still has made no significant strides in figuring out anything more than rudimentary tuning and bolt-ons.

Indeed those numbers are impressive, but are they realistic?

friend of mine got Rennrech tune and maximum they achieved was 690RWHP with RON98 fuel? I believe there will be a difference on Alpha tune too?

Furthermore, If you noticed Alpha has 100 Octane custom tune.

Unfortunately, there is no 100 octane fuel in Georgia. Furthermore, I was using EU98 RON fuel which is in the US around 93.5 Octane Unleaded fuel. Here is MON to RON conversion numbers:

EURO RON US (R+M)/2
90 85.9
92 87.8
95 90.7
96 91.6
98 93.5
100 95.5
105 100.2
110 105

I've also come up with a pretty good formula that approximates US octane rating based on EURO RON rating, and visa versa. The formula is US=RON*(21/22): Therefore, when Alpha states 100 Octane fuel it means that they are using 105 RON. Thus, if I had 105 RON fuel here in republic of Georgia, that would obviously mane a huge difference in power. From what I know this would give around 15% difference, hence 660 + 15% = 760HP and that is the answer to your argument

This is an awesome modification for the new V8 Biturbos... But you/we should ALL completely forget the entire Crank HP/TQ NMeters tq #'s as they can be manipulated/read so many different ways that increase the #'s beyond reality. IE every tuner uses a different DTL % etc etc no telling which Percentage is actually correct, the ONLY way to 100% know how much an engine makes @ the Crank in from an Engine Dyno..

659 rwhp is indeed stout but what about ALL the V8 Biturbo cars w/just ECU & Down Pipes on 91-93 octane on stock turbos, they're making NEARLY the same exact 650+ rwhp?? I've seen a load of Dynos showing this type of power from Weistec, Renntech, AMS, etc etc
Here's Weistec Tune ONLY 608 rwhp http://weistec.com/all/cls/cls-63/20...u-upgrade.html
And here's Weistec pkg... W/ECU/Down Pipes/Exhaust/Hi flow air filters on crummy 91 octane 645 whp this is w/Stock Turbos..
http://weistec.com/all/cls/cls-63/20...cls63-rwd.html

Or what bout Renntech's V8 Biturbo Turbo etc upgrades? It handily eclipses the 659 rwhp from Kleemann . Renntech's making crazy 710 rwhp
http://renntechmercedes.com/index.ph...pproved-detail

& Here's the grand daddy AMS W/get this JUST their upgraded snails making an insane 787 RWHP!! https://mbworld.org/forums/w218/4891...os-787whp.html

Just noting ALL the other comparable options for the same platform

Nevermind all the fluff! How's the car running and let's see some real performance data (track numbers...dyno numbers mean nothing).

You must be mistaken, your friend could never see 690 rwhp w/JUST the Renntech ecu tune even if he ran custom file using ms109 race fuel = 109 legit octane.. But even if he made just 590 whp tht's still incredible for ECU only..

No, I didn't say that there was just ECU tune, he has turbo package from Renntech and with 93 octane RON 98 the car make 690 WHP.
