After an oil change, I was advised that I have a drivers side leak out of the valve cover and both timing covers.

Apparently there is no gasket for this and it’s done with a sealer. What should I anticipate for a repair of this nature and any recommendations for repair in Atlanta GA?

is the valve cover a DIY repair?

any information would greatly be appreciated!

In principle it is a DIY job. And it’s tricky. Thin bead of sealant that needs to be applied just right on a cleaned surface after considerable disassembly of parts to be able to apply said sealant. Risk of breaking 10 yr old brittle plastic parts during disassembly and reassembly. Single use aluminum screws with very low torque spec.

No rocket science involved but a high level of attention to detail is needed.
