Hi all! This is my first post. Am driving a CLS 63 2011 (W218) in Singapore.
I've gotten this car last year around july. The car came with an aftermarket steering wheel installed by the previous owner. While driving in M mode, there would be a 70% chance when I click the upshift paddle it wouldn't upshift. As you imagine this can be dangerous as 1st gear is very short. There were countless times where I'd be in first gear, attempt to upshift only for it to not register thus causing me to redline my engine in 1st gear.
I thought that the problem was the paddles on my steering wheel as they were very mushy. I changed them out to an aftermarket pair which are magnetic so the feedback is more responsive. This lowered the chance to about 15% but it is still there. I cannot drive the car in M mode comfortably and confidently. Do you guys think the steering wheel is the issue or is there a more serious underlying problem?
