hello,
allow me to introduce myself, I am a big car collector and love mercedes benz, i recently purchased a 2006 cls 55 amg, the car should arrive end april,
i originally ordered my car in white with charcoal but just today changed to black, do you guys think this was a good decision?

Hard call - I went with Silver and I hear some people who post ehere either love or hate white - the biggest issue I have heard and personally seen with darker colors on this car is that you "lose" some of the striking body lines in the darker colors - having seen this first hand in Newport, I kind of agree, though black is hot on any car. In the end it's all preference - you'll be happy with any color I promise.

well I LOVE white on cars, most of my cars are white and I have thought about a CLS500 in white but I think i'll wait. But you can't lose with black or white! good decision either way and congrats on the car.

2006 CLS55
I had originally wanted a black car as well. I decided on silver and am so glad I did. I am **** aboout keeping my cars clean, so black would have been much more upkeep. Go with what you like!

Silver, Black or White are all sick colors for the CLS though I totally agree with the other guy about losing some of the lines with a dark color like Black, especially on a car like this where a big part of the draw is the shape and the lines. Personally, I'd take Silver in less than a heatbeat, but it will definetly look sweet in either of these colors. Good luck.

I look at it this way, the marketing people always use the best colours and combinations for the brochures. They want to portray the car as classy, sporty, sexy ect....., so select a combo in the advertisments.

CLS55 FULLY LOADED HOT CAR!!! Entertainment System
I ordered the car white w charcoal interior coming in May. This car is sweet, from the body stylings to the 19' wheels. What entertainment system are you guys putting in.

Yes, the High Gloss Laural is the optional wood choice at the moment. Its option code H05. I did the best I could with what was available to show the difference between the two types(Matte Burl vs Gloss Laural). I appologize for the low quality. The Laural is darker and more exotic looking than the standard Burl Walnut. It almost looks like smoke in suspended animation. Hard to explain but much better than the Burl Walnut IMO. The matte finish on the walnut doesnt come close to the elegance of the high gloss finish of the laural IMO although many of our members seem to like the matte finish (its definetely not common to see matte wood in a car). Hope the pics help to convey the difference between the two. The darker wood is the Laural. At the end of the day, I still wish Black Birdseye Maple was available. Its my favorite!

Redline-your E55 looks sweet, great choice on the rims. The 911 isnt too bad either! I am counting the days till my CLS55 arrives. Saw one on Sunset tonight and I got that cold feeling in my heart, the one when you really want something bad(Girl....Car...Etc). Soon it will be me! Enjoy your cars, we do seem to have the same excellent taste!

I personally like black on a benz, esp. if its an AMG. You cant go wrong with black. It looks classy, sporty, and agressive all in one. Yes it is harder to keep clean but with a car like this its worth it. After a nice detail it always gives me a tingle.
