CLS-500, SL-500, BOXSTER-S
I went w/ the gloss and it is quite dark compared w/ the matt finish. My interior is black and it kinda blends in too much w/ the leather. I still would go with the gloss if I had to do it over again.

04 E 500 4matic wagon; CLS 63 AMG
I have recently taken delivery of a CLS 55 with the shiny laurel wood. It looks great. I wanted that because IMO the matte finish of the burl is too light in color and looks like plastic. (To each his own, however.) I have just gotten a matching steering wheel (charcoal leather and the laurelwood) and it too looks well.

I am not happy with my matte finish. Definately get the Shiny. My matte looks like fake wood, cant stand it and I'm going to switch it to either the shiny, or the black birds eye maple.

Sorry no pictures yet. Getting close. Went with the gloss here on the 500. If you are considering the ash interior,saw it for the first time this afternoon with the gloss laurel at the dealer and still very happy with ordering that combo. The CLS Ash is imho much darker than the Ash on some of the other classes. Imho a nice medium. Imho the gloss dark wood,ash leather,black mats,black steering wheel and dash top contrast nicely

wow thanks KB5. those pics sure help. i saw a CLS500 with high gloss wood today at dealer i liked it. much better than i thought and it looks better than the matt wood. i think i'm set to order.

anyone have close up pics of the shiny wood interior? all the CLS i've seen are all matt wood trims. trying to decide which way to go.
