Just confirmed with the dealer the car will be here late October early November. I was originally told something like the 3rd week of December. Flat Black with Cashmere interior, and every single option and package. I can't wait till it comes.

I have had my deposit in since November of last year, but kept changing my mind on color and options which kept putting the order back. Then I heard about the 030 Performance Option and I decided to wait until the CLS could be ordered with it. Well, I ordered it today and the salesman thinks it will be in around the last of August or the first of September. One thing I had not heard, that is included in this package, is the rear fenders are different so that larger rear tires and wheels will fit, however the rear tires are the same size as the regular CLS55, go figure?
Color is going to be Black with Cashmere Interior, and I think the wheels MB will use will be like the SL65 wheels. So, now at least I have an Actual car coming.

My good friend has the SL55, and it is tight in that car. I am 6'-2" tall and the passenger seat does not go back as far as I would like. The 030 CLS55 is going to be a kick a$$ car, and on the 030 option cost I just assumed that the price for the 030 option would be $10,000.00 like was reported on this forum. Now you got me thinking, and I will call the salesman monday and check on it.

Pricing
I believe it was quoted as $9,500.00 USD. I'll make sure to take some digital pics but in terms of determining the performance differences between a CLS55 with/or without ... I won't be able to compare. I won't have driven a CLS55 without when I get my car. I test drove a CLS500 and an E55 to get a feel for the power.

This is a list from another post and if my memory serves right it is what the salesman told me was included in the 030 Performance Package when I placed the order the other day. The Salesman did not refer to the Performance Package as being the "Nurburgring" Package.

Where does one infer that it will have wider rear fenders? It only says modifications.... I would not expect a wide body CLS. MFG cost of special fenders would have killed this project.
Sounds like a great deal for the money! My guess is most dealers will order this as standard when they build out cars.
More options, more $$$$$.

I just wonder how much better the handling will really be? The rest of the package doesn't mean much to me. The brakes are fine the way they are since I don't track the car. The LSD is a nice addition, but it's the handling that needs the most work. I would love a sedan that comes somewhat close to the handling of my 996TT. In any case, it's still a 4000 lb car and unless the weight changes, I can't imagine a huge improvement in handling. Just my .02 worth.

2010 ZR1 2011 JGC Overland 2013 ML63 on order
As soon as I found out that this package was available I wanted it sooooo badly.
My main hang up was the "Alcantara" steering wheel. I did some internet searching and saw some steering wheels that look like ***** using that material. Then I discovered one that has the alcantara material on the wheel in the same places that the wood trim option does. That way the wheel is a combo of leather and alcantara. That eased my mind somewhat. I'm really hoping it comes this way. No one knows for sure this early in the game.
I gave in and added this package to the order. Still on track to get the car around Dec from MB of South Orlando. Was 7 people in front of me, now just 3!!!
Basically this option package takes the CLS up to the 65 level, sans the bi-turbo motor & active suspension. It uses the SL65 goodies like the 19" 2 piece wheels, 15.4" brakes, rear differential, modified front fender, etc. Completely loaded out I'm at 110,000 vs 180+ for the bi-turbo. That's ALOT of ching for just a motor and active suspension.

You need to re-read my post. I am referring to handling. My 996TT can be tossed around and is nimble, my CLS55 feels like a good-handling 4,000lb car. MB needs to shave some weight to improve the handling. That is my point.

am i the only one that think the SL65 style bumper (open intake on the side) & AMG 2 pieces wheel might not look good on the CLS?
i think the lines on CLS is very clean & both classic futuristic looking. don't think the sporty bumper will fit the car well (mostly the opening). so do the wheels. stock 5 spoke just fit the car perfectly. not sure the busier looking 2 pieces will help either.

have u seen the picts? im not sure the side vent is such a great idea for the CLS myself, it makes the front look sporty, but then then as your eyes move to the rear, the elegance takes over, and it somewhat clashes. have to see it in person though before i make up my mind...

jkrutch - a 4100 lb. anything is not going to switch direction as easily as a 3500 lb. something else - goes with out saying. You will never see a sedan the size and level of finish of the CLS weigh any where close to 3500 lb., so you should never consider this type of car given your priorities concerning cars.

I did see a CLS in black at Mercedes of Sacramento with the 2 piece AMG's in all silver (not the graphite centers) and it looked stunning.
