v600 phone problem!!
This phone has been plagued with problems that have been increasingly noticeable and annoying, but none more so than the fact that Call Waiting does not function. When I am on the phone and another call is made to my number, either I see the call appear on my screen (but I cannot flip over to it) or the call goes directly into voice mail.
Today, my dealer replaced the phone, but the Call Waiting feature still did not function. Accordingly, I called Cingular Wireless customer support and, after nearly an hour of fruitless interaction, I was finally transferred to that carrier's technical support personnel.
I was told by the Cingular Wireless tech support person that Motorola has now recalled the v600, but that no replacement for it has yet been announced.
Is anyone else who has a v600 phone also experiencing this problem with Call Waiting? If so, what have you done to rectify it, or are you just living with it?
So many functions on the phones now... a lot of reading and reviewing needed.
This evening, Cingular Wireless' technical support called my home. This "problem of mine" intrigues them to the point that we are going to run a test tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. employing multiple Cingular Wireless handsets and call waiting trials on the network. So, we shall see.
Regardless, I don't understand why problems like this arise with a car like the CLS 55.
i have the phone and it works fine holding it (no issues).
in the car, the secret is to hit the green SEND button to switch over to the other call. give it a shot.

The culprit in this case was a defective SIM card! By putting my defective SIM card in any advanced Motorola phone, I was able to get that phone to malfunction; more importantly, with another SIM card in my phone, my phone worked as it was supposed to work.
And so, I got a new SIM card from Cingular Wireless, and, Voila! I am once again a happy camper.
Now, if I could just get Cingular to lower my $900 of international roaming charges last month...

as for customers, give them a phone number that you can forward remotely. when you are in the us, it goes to your us cell phone. when you are abroad, you configure it to go to your international #. no roaming and your customers see one number.
congrats on solving your issue. for me, they forgot to software rev the antenna amplifier so i was getting no signal. after 2 weeks they figured it out.
