2003 CLK55
Well, dealer called today. My car is now at the dealership. I really should be happy, but I'm kinda depressed. I know they wont give me what I want for my CLK55. Oh well, at least my deposit is refundable.
We shall see what the dealer says tomorrow when I go there.
P.S.

I know this goes against what I said earlier about not seeing the car before I do my wheeling and dealing...but I will bring a camera and post pics!

Good luck with the deal. If it doesnt work out, you still have a sick car and plus, you can always order another CLS later. I hope it works out for you.

Walk Away

Walk away, their strategy is they have you emotionally committed to the deal. They aren't that hard to get. Get one thru someone else and sell your car.

Well, unfortunately not. I walked into the dealer's on Saturday and my dealer said..."so, you wanna see the car?'" I looked at him and just said "NO". I was happy that I stayed true to not seeing the car before the deal was done.
So unfortunately I didn't get any pics. I did give him my ultimatum. I said I want $46K for my CLK55 or I walk away from the deal. He said he will call me monday with the answer. I just got into my car and drove off. Never got to see the car, since it was not outside. Damn....if this doesn't work out I may make a trip to the dealership anyways and take pics. I have never seen a CLS55 in person and I was really kicking myself for not taking a peek!
I will be posting tomorrow after he calls. I doubt they will take my offer.
Stay tuned..................

No longer car shopping...
Question for you - If they split the difference (offered you $43K), would you go for it?

Well, I just got off the phone with my dealer. I guess I don't have to worry about them splitting the difference....they flat out said NO to my offer. They were not even willing to haggle one little bit.
Oh well.......Good news for someone in Connecticut. If anyone wants a black CLS55 they can call Carriage House of New London, CT. 1-860-447-3361.
Say you are interested in the CLS55 that the Druggist ordered.

Maybe in a few years I will try again......like I said before....it was a win-win situation for me. I still get to drive my CLK55. Maybe I need to visit with Kleeman instead!

I guess it doesn't pay to have a trade in. My 1999 CLK430 was a lease so I didn't have anything to trade in when I got my 2003 CLK55. No wonder why that deal was smooth like butter. I feel like a fool.

NEVER trade a car in! It's always best to sell it private party because this is what the dealer is going to do and they need to buy it less from you to make their money. it gives them one more option to hide $ in your deal. I have leased 5 cars and sold all of them privately. Most of the time you can have the buyer send the check direct to the lease Co. and never have a $ come out of your pocket.

Went to the dealership today for service on my CLK55 and guess what I saw.......my CLS55 is still there....for sale on the lot. I can't believe no one has purchased this car yet. I couldn't help myself from walking around this car like fifty times! This car is damn sexy in person. Oh the torture. Snapped a few quick ones on the cell:

Just take it easy pal. Com'on, you have a CLK55 AMG, it's an awesome car. Instead of buying CLS go to Kleemann......you will be happy!

Trust me, I'm over it. I still love my CLK. I would still like to get a CLS in the future. I was more amazed at the fact that they can not move this car.
I was browsing through Autotrader yesterday and looky what I found. I guess they are desperate enough to use autotrader. I can't believe it already has 34 miles on it. Damn, I wonder if I ask if they would let me take it for a test drive.
